Nine Perfect Strangers 2021

With a show like this, it really all depended on the ending, and it was a letdown. The first five episodes felt like the build-up for some crazy fallout that was sure to happen when Marsha lost control, but then everything kind of just... went as planned? Every character got exactly what they wanted, Marsha got to see her daughter again, the Marcones moved on from the suicide, the couples end up together, etc. The resolution that showed everyone living out some perfect life after the retreat just added to the uncompelled feeling I had after it was over. At one point it truly felt like all of these people were getting in over their heads and that Marsha would end up damaging them somehow, but instead they all just "got better" because of some shrooms and stress. It's boring.

I thought the performances were great, and it was nice to see Melissa McCarthy act in something half-decent again. Regina Hall killed it, she was genuinely unnerving at times, until the show went overboard with it.

I agree that this was a waste of good talent. Nicole Kidman can do a great American English accent but clearly not a Russian one - it became distracting.

Definitely a binge worthy show. Everyone’s secrets were relatable. Some more outlandish than others but for the most part the guest were every day people struggling with trauma. It was tough watching the healing process for them all. The ending was not expected. I thought there’d be some big twist but there wasn’t and it was perfect the way it was.

Not sure if Nicole Kidman can really act or just be herself. It is entertaining until it isn't anymore the last couple of episode are pure bullshit. Nothing get really resolved.

[Amazon] One of the most addictive series of the year, a journey through the traumas of a society that builds dead-end roads, suffocated by its own neurotic character. The need to overcome these traumas through hallucinogenic substances also shows the distortion of reality, the superficiality of characters who need to escape from their own world in order to find themselves.

Wow. Really enjoying this

Great cast, awesome settings, fantastic characters. Just loving it.

Hilarious, tear-inducing, even horrifying. This is what they mean when they say "must watch tv".

Very weird show.. into episode 6 (terrible btw) and not sure if I like or hate the show. I'll finish the season before giving overall rating. Right now I'll give it a 6/10.
Update - got to the end.. didn't like it. 5/10

I was really enjoying the initial introductions and interactions with the guests. Trying to asses and guess what was going on with all of them was interesting. Then Guru Botox walked in (Kidman) and with her awful supposedly Russian accent and fortune cookie dialogue it completely took me out of the show and I lost interest.

Waste of time. There are so many better shows in TV at the moment, I thought this was gonna be great with the cast. Michael Shannon is an amazing actor and there’s a couple of scenes where he really excelled. But overall the show was disappointing. ==The end, is she driving the lambo on drugs…what does it even mean. There was no message from the show other than do drugs ==

This reminds me of 'The White Lotus' where you watch the show waiting for anything interesting to happen, but nothing really does.

This is also not a Tarantino movie or a David Simon show, where dialogues are something to quote and think about for hours after watching.

You cannot put good cast together, and expect that it would be enough for a proper entertainment.

This is not 'This is Us' or 'Chasing Life' where scenes are so emotional you need to be a brick not to care.

If you are going to film a show that helps people with problems, you need something better than this one, if that was the idea.

Overall awful, and Nicole Kidman presence makes it much worse, since show creators definitely try to have as much moments as possible that just showcase how nice she looks like, and how superior she is to other actors.

This show teaches us nothing.

Hollywood just gather around some famous actors with cheap story and call it a show. They could easily create a much better show about mental health. The Story was stretched pretty thin and some episodes were unbearable to watch.

I regret my time on this show and also feel very worried for forcing myself to watch the whole season. What kind of mental disorder is my problem?

Good weird, great cast, amazing performances, specially from Regina Hall e Michael Shannon. Made me laugh, made almost cry (Michael Shannon saying grace scene), made confused and bored at times, but for only 8 episodes I think it was worth it.

Quite an interesting series from Hulu Network. With patience u will love it.
All actors did very great.
Nicole Kidman was really great.

Overall, I rate the movie 8/10

I'm on my hands and knees begging Hollywood to stop making actors do Hollywoodized Russian accent. How long must we suffer through this terrible fake accent?

Why are 99% of Russian villains in movies are played by poor-attempt-at-Russian-language-pronunciation Hollywood actors?

an excellent show with a superb cast. Nicole Kidman is brilliant.

What an absolute waste of a pretty good cast. This show was pretty terrible and pointless. Trust me, if you're thinking of investing your time to watch: DON'T.

there is no story.

dont expect like : dexter, you, breaking bad, ozark, saul goodman. u know how those series have big deep immersive story. well this serie has none

they go in island. everyone talks about their pains. little to none happens .

I think they're going for a Persons Unknown (2010) feel. The collection of different characters makes for an enticing mix.

I enjoyed this miniseries once through but not enough to watch again. I can't quite put my finger on what's missing. Maybe it's that the pacing is a bit slow at times combined with predictable plot? The characters are maybe a bit too unlikeable as well. Melissa McCarthy is great as always and in some places the writing is excellent. Something's missing. I'm not sure I'd recommend but I wouldn't discourage either.

Disappointing. The ending was suuuuch a let down.

i loved it very much!
interesting and deeply relatable.

I should think the book by Liane Moriarty is better, because this show was lacking.
Then I had a realization - I had just binged 'The Good Place' and 'Brand New Cherry Flavor' before watching this... so I think I'm just sweatin' Manny Jacinto! <3

Way underrated. Fabulous performance from the cast. It keeps you hanging for quite a while, but overall very satisfying. Feel like people who didn't like it, didn't try to understand the characters. I had a great time watching, tried my best not to binge it all at once.

This is a series that grows on you with each episode. The cast may get you to episode one, the characters and performances may get you to episode 2, but, by episode 3 you will probably be hooked. I give this limited series a 7.9 (good) out of 10. [Drama]

As another user says, it's an awesome cast and the introduction to the series was well done in my opinion.
I'm loving it m.

Can't add this show to my collection, watch list or even history... so how do I save it so that I can come back to it later this year when it airs??? Don't want to miss it.
