This show is firing on all cylinders for me, now - I’m really enjoying the story and the characters are getting fleshed-out well. I’m particularly liking the complexity of Vic’s father and her relationship with him.
I’m still thinking that Charlie, his RR Wraith, and Christmasland are the inscape of Bing, who is a strong creative, and that Charlie Manx and his world and car are no more (or less) real than Vic’s bridge. Charlie is Bing’s Id made flesh. Watching Charlie and Bing interact in Bing’s basement has helped convince me that this is so, and it explains why Vic’s bridge took her to Bing’s house when she was trying to find the Wraith.
I thought it was a nice touch that the bus at the bus depot was a Peter Pan bus (I looked it up online thinking I’d not find it, but apparently it’s a real bus company). In any event, it’s an apt choice given the story and themes of Peter Pan (spiriting children away to Neverland).
