Musical episodes of TV shows are more often than not horrible and this was no exception. There was basically no story line / plot (because the writers spent all their time trying to slap together some God awful lyrics to the songs)... They actually put us through a cheesey "why are we singing" musical number... Cringe... Please, let's not do this again.
Nice to see Regina's cleavage singing. Not a bad episode but the story is a bit unfocused.
Show could be ending next week despite it being called a season finale. Maybe just end it, then bring it back to Netflix in a couple of years.
LOL, I hope a musical episode means that the creators did it just to do it before ending it all...'cuz I honestly hope the series just ends for its own sake. I feel like if this series was made now, it'd be more successful as an anthology series. ANYWAY, REGINA WERKED IT, THAT MADE THE EPISODE FOR ME >_> lmao
Holy crap that was amazing.
After watching The Flash musical, I thought this was going to be crappy. I didn't expect much. But wow, the performances were great.
I stopped caring about the storyline a loooong time ago. I stopped asking questions because they are pointless. I just enjoyed these performances.
The best part was that they were singing about singing. They were fully aware that they were singing and it was abnormal.
It was hilarious that they actually tied in the singing to the plot and that it was the key to defeating The Black Fairy in The Final Battle. I think at this point, they're just trying to end this 6 season 'saviour' plot and they're doing it with a musical which is both amazing and ridiculous.
Many laughs. So enjoyable. At this point, I can't expect anything out of the plot. All I can do is enjoy the wonderful performances of these wonderful actors.
Favourite performances: snow/charming and zelena's.
Really hoped Henry would get his own song instead of just one line in the final song. Thought Rumple would start rapping, but I guess Robert Carlyle would have none of that.
I longed for the curse that would put an end to the song.
Always fun to have a musical episode in a show but it was badly placed so close to the end of a season/the entire plot of the series as we know it so far. The plot didn't work well, far too cheesy to start singing to defeat great evil, did enjoy the lightness of the flashbacks.
can't remember the last time i watched something so iconic
This episode was the only reason I went back and watched OUAT again after a veryyy long time. I wasn't disappointed. It's a fun episode. I find its beauty in it's absurdity.
"It's not about the little things that I couldn't do on my own. It was every time something big came along, I ran from it."
Surprising episode and I agree with many who already commented here. I don't usually like musicals and musicals in TV shows but this one was brilliantly executed and directed. Congrats!
"Once I lived in darkness Out there on my own Left to brave the world Alone Everything seemed hopeless No chance to break free Couldn't hear the song inside of me"
I'm going to miss these characters :(
This was much better than I expected. I loved how it was incorporated into the plot. I'm always a bit reluctant when I know there's a musical episode going... but between The Flash and this one, I'm starting to hope other shows do it
I freaking loved this episode. The songs were instantly catchy and almost broadway worthy! The whole thing was just superb!
It was no "Once More, With Feeling".
This show has been on a steady decline since the Black Swan story which is such a shame as it used to be one of my favourite shows on TV. I wouldn't be disappointed if they did not renew it for another season...in fact I don't think they should before it slides in quality any further and I am no longer able to look back at the show fondly.
srsly this was so ridiculous...
enough with the dark curses!
just ended already...
although i did like hook's singing lol
Songs: great
The plot: not so great
Sooooo excited for the musical episode it looks great so far I can't wait :)
with all the singing... horrible finish. I hope Season 7 bring something seriously new and exciting. This show is on a repeat cycle with boring curses
I don't understand why shows have to throw musical episodes in. It is so annoying. If I wanted to watch a musical, I would do just that. I was so glad when this episode was over.
2023 rewatch - I remembered NONE of this! I generally dislike musicals, but this is surprisingly tolerable.
My god, this was unbearable to watch. :hear_no_evil::see_no_evil:
I'm surprised it took them all this time to do a musical episode of a fantasy show. Yes, it was awfully cheesy, but it was also refreshing and fun. This show has been rotting away for a few seasons, so this particular episode was a welcome change of the usual bland and stale storytelling of late.
It's been done. And I know Joss Whedon, Joss Whedon is my friend, and you, sirs, are no Joss Whedon.
I'm surprised how much I loved this episode. I was like "oh no" when Snowhite started to sing but I ended up loving this! However I am mildly frustrated with them casting the same curse over and over and over again.
I could barely stomach this episode. God I hope this show gets cancelled soon because I can't bare to watch anymore and I never leave a show unfinished.
At this point and with Jennifer Morrison leaving I hope next week's episode is the end.
Watched maybe 10 mins. TV show musicals are horrendous and not at all amusing. No story line and worthless. Almost given up on this show, getting a bit stale

The musical parts were boring and not needed but the few bits that didn't have song are where the episode shines. Just sucks that those parts are few and far between. Really hope this is the last season for this show since it's getting really boring always having the same old curse every time! Sad since this show started out great now it just feels like it's carrying on just cause.
terrible episode just terrible who comes up with this shit.

I loved the musical episode anyone who hated it probably dislikes musicals or doesn't get the humour or doesn't know how to enjoy things lol it was one episode and a lot of fans wanted a musical and it wasn't awful so just move on it's over and you survived...I feel like people will either hate or love this episode...yes some musicals for tv shows don't work but others do...Jose who didn't want this at least think of how selfish it would be to not want this to happen for all those fans who wanted a musical episode really badly...and at least they continued the story...also sure curses are used a lot but that's what happens in their lives and worlds...evil people cast curses and season 7 will be fresh and new so if you hate this part it's almost over at least.
