Best. Show. Ever.
There's drama, a great story, humor, action, relationships. It just covers it all.
Best surprise since Orphan Black. Watch this show, now! It's brilliant.
Loved the show, it was a really wild ride. Really appreciated how real it felt - there wasn't an always-predictable deus ex machina to save and spoil the day, the characters and their struggles (albeit written) were very real.
I'd recommend watching it even if it isn't your usual genre.
Fantastic series. From season 1 to 5, I have loved every single bit of it.
Great show, and overall a superb group of actors, Taylor Schilling is brilliant, and Uzo Abuda is utterly convincing. Great story line, and no one is sure what is around the corner. Riveting story line, and great comic drama. Great Entertainment. Just what we need.
Altough I might finished it, it's hard to keep going after losing Poussey. Overall, it's a great show and I've had a blast with these girls and how awesome some of their characters are. Not looking at you, Piper.
MY THOUGHTS ON ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK:
-WARNING: Spoilers Below-
Orange Is the New Black is a breath of fresh air to the prison genre. I usually find movies or tv shows about prisons quite samey and boring but they added something new with this. It was filled with hilarious scenes, emotional scenes and sometimes even brutal scenes. It had a lot of realism in it and showed you the hardships that some women have to go through in prison.
Of course with most TV Shows it had it's downfalls with some plots dragging on a bit too much or irritating characters (I'm looking at you Pennsatucky) but it never ruined this show in my eyes. It was always worth watching and it was always funny. Each season had an interesting enough plot to want you to carry on watching it but was fresh from the last season.
My main issue with this show was that it dragged out things too much, for example the riot season was far too long. They dragged that on for as long as they possibly could and unfortunately it ended up ruining that specific ark. Besides that though it was always good and consistently good.
Overall rating: 8/10
Broke my heart but was a fascinating ride
A good series in general, but one or two seasons to long in my opinion.
I really will missed this series. It was like five long years with the characters that I will never forgive
Good show. A LOT more comedic than other superior (imo) shows like Wentworth and Vis a Vis but still more to it than just the humour, and I think my favourite thing in all of the show was the character development with Joe Caputo, real nice arc there.
It’ not a goodbye,It’s ORANGE FOREVER!
great show... sure to become a true classic and will be sorely missed... good luck to everyone that was involved.., you brought hours of delight to everyone!
I just wanted to say that Suzanne was the best actress on the show.
Btw i recommend to give this show a try, because it took me a while to start watching the show, i wasn't sure that i would going to like this type of show, where the 90% of the time they are at the same place, all just women, i was trying to imagine what type of content they would bring on the episodes that could be interesting... but i give it a try and now i'm here waiting for the release of the season 7 imagine what could be the final. And the show toutches in many type of real situations that could make you think a litle bit or question yourself, or maybe change your opinion in some topics, and you get some funny parts. Just watch the show come on... :D
This series runs from ridiculous to profound, crass to clever and salacious to touching. At the end of season 6 (I can't believe I haven't written a review before this), with at least one more season promised, it continues to swing to all the extremes. The thing that continually brings me back to this series, despite its pervasive low bar are the characters. I became attached to them. The writing and the performances made them unforgettable and endearing so that I cared what happened to them, most times despite themselves (S4 E12 was probably one of the most heartbreaking episodes ever written for television). The characters make you care enough to put up with the sewage you may need to wade through to find them. Because of that give and take, my episode ranking has fluctuated from 6 to 9 (with the exceptional 10), but I give this series a 7 (good) out of 10 overall. [Dramedy]. (WENTWORTH is a better prison drama, but then again, it doesn't try to be a comedy and a drama)
Should check out checkout Wentworth as well. Some bits feel similar but in general more realistic and gritty, and then it becomes evilly Machivellian. https://trakt.tv/shows/wentworth
One of the best Aussie shows at the moment.
Love this crazy show and its cast!
This show can actually make you laugh from time to time. A rare comodity these days. It also has some strong 'dem feels' moments, so beware.
I really love this show!!! The cast is amazing! The dialogues are perfect! And the story is always funny and smart!!! I can't count the hours till season 5!!!!...... (The show got other 3 season!!!! They renewed the contract until seas 7!!!)
such an amazing show!
season two is very brilliant.
in love with rosa now.
Drama? No way! This show is sooooo funny! =)
And the cover should be like this! http://www.serienjunkies.de/news/big/o/orange-the-new-black-43346_big.jpg
Sex - tears - death - sex - even more tears
Great characters! First season amazing!
Some really intense episodes with a lot of action in both main and side stories, however, mostly side-story plots.
Main storyline quality: 7/10
Side storylines quality: 5/10
Characters: 8/10
Originality: 9/10
Acting, directing and technical quality: 9/10
Progression: 6/10
Consistency (low if mistakes in plot, or hail-mary changes etc.): 9/10
Intensity (cliffhangers, edge of seat and the like): 6/10
Entertaining, Good for mid season breaks backups.
Have watched it since the first season. Very addictive & really happy Netflix decided to take it on for the 3rd time.
Found it very boring. The only thing half entertaining, at least for the men, is all the lezbian sex and boob shots. Only made it through episode 3 so maybe it got better, but cant stand it anymore.
Dont watch this show, youll get hooked.
It was so unexpectedly good, it almost makes me wish I didn't watch the whole thing in two days... I want season 2 right now.
I really enjoyed orange but I have to say that after Pousseys main storyline, it became more of a job I had to do to watch it than a want to watch it. I think it does leave a lot of loose ends. I also didn't understand why the characters waving goodbye at the end of the last episode were mostly supporting/small characters and not the ones we had spent most of the show with. But I did enjoy it and I thought it did handle the more sensitive plot points well. Red, I love you !
when they introduced an interesting topic, they dropped the storyline in the next episodes. they missed everything. you might think it becomes more interesting but they fail to deliver.
I have mixed feelings about this show in its entirety. It was both “the shit” and it was really shitty.
I personally prefer going into my entertainment as "blind" as possible, that's why all the marked spoilers.
One shitty aspect was that for a while there it seemed like a long haul excuse to show off titties and girls making out with each other. This is something that might not have annoyed me as much if they’d shown off the big girl titties and/or the more "mature" ones just as equally. Only the young, slim, and small tittied women were shown as a main focus or for a longer duration. Only your standard, “lesbian” eye candy that many straight men gobble up. This seemed like a show that would actually want to share a spectrum of body representation, and they had plenty of opportunities that they didn’t choose to take.
Piper, the leading main character was so easy to get over. Alex too. All the “side” characters and their stories were much more interesting.
My favorite character? Either Boo or Warren.
With Boo, I couldn’t help but keep looking past her, at times, not so nice character, because I have a massive crush on Lea DeLaria. I’m quite straight, but there are some butch women especially that I find yummy to look at and imagine them “taking care of me.” This one in particular though, damn. I don’t know what it is about her, but she is the first “girl crush” I think of when the subject comes up. I am shocked by my own desire for her. Seeing her with a strap on, that was really fun.
Warren’s hallucinations episode was a brilliant way to show off the actor’s range of talent.
My least favorite character? Soso.
I had a seething hatred for Soso’s character. Seriously, could they have played into the Asian stereotype any harder? Where mama wanted her to be perfect and such. Yeah, yeah, we haven’t heard this one before. How very original. Every word that came out her mouth was so grating. I found her entire personality super annoying. Plus, with the way things were going, as previously mentioned with the titties, I knew the moment I saw her newly arrive that we’d be seeing hers. Yep, of fucking course.
Pennsatucky’s character was terrible to start, but she at least later began to redeem herself. I’d never seen Taryn Manning play someone that wasn’t sweet, so it was really strange to witness at first.
One of the best moments was when Rosa left. I had to rewind and replay that glorious scene. Just talking about it has me seeking out the clip to enjoy yet again.
It was so sweet when Sophia’s wife was helping and supporting them in dressing the way that they wanted. It broke my heart when she asked them to keep it and they just couldn’t. Both sides were understandable.
I loved Morello’s proposal. As a straight, cis woman I do dream of being the one proposed to, but it was fun to see her propose to him, and I’m a sucker for proposals in general.
Another moving moment, when Boo pushed Pennsatucky to confront what had really happened to her with the officer.
This show’s biggest problem was that it ended on too many heavy notes.
So many of the characters we had come to know and love and were rooting for got so fucked in the end. They killed Morello’s baby. They killed Pennsatucky. They allowed Taystee to have to stay in prison for a crime she didn't commit. They stuck Red with a dementia diagnosis. They took away the 3 most important people in Nicky's life from her. Piper and Alex, again, two of the least interesting and least lovable characters got to ride off into the sunset together. It all felt so wrong.
I really enjoyed and recommend the first season but tired of it after that.
Good, but Wentworth is way better
I've only watched 3 seasons and it's going to stay that way. They were entertaining but the hooks of the first season are already gone. While the are many individual character moments that are great, the show overall has significantly lost its charm already and even the opening episodes of the fourth season have me not enthusiastic for the rest of it
The first couple of seasons were good, the next couple ok and the final few utter garbage. The finale was shockingly awful in almost every regard. 6/10 if you stop at s4, 3/10 if you go all the way.
I watched s1,2,3 and i thought i would see something interesting but nothing but drama and little meaningless stories
This series is a well told story line. The comedy settles the drama, which can be intense. A binge-worthy series. But have tissues for some of the parts and get ready for anger at others. Enjoy it, I sure did.
A story of a blonde girl named Piper Chapman who gets caught in a prison for smuggling drugs with her girlfriend. How she spend her prison sentence is the rest of OITNB And it is based on Piper Kerman's memoir. OITNB has different kind of humour which does connect the audience and it is most watched netflix series until now. This series involves different kinds of people from different and so it takes some time to get connect to the characters but once you get it, you will love this series.
Usually i hate dramas. But this became my all time favorite show. The thing is,all humans are flawed. You can never classify one as good or bad.Take the lead character.i felt bad for her at first, hated in between and again felt bad coming to end.Everyone deserves a story
Enjoyed it totally until the last season. I was expecting it to be so hard to let go and dreaded the show coming to an end. Then I watched it. What a total political s**tshow. The virtue signaling was so out of control I suffered through the first half of the season and stopped watching. I don't know why Hollywood thinks we care about their political views, we don't. If anything a good show helps us to forget about all the crap going on.
At the end of the day the actors, producers and writers drive home in their beautiful cars to their beautiful homes behind gates & walls in their 95-100% white neighborhoods patting themselves on the back that they are so woke.
Puhlease. Just shut up and entertain us. That's what you're paid to do.
I remember when I first started to watch this... This show has taken me through several emotions.... Goodbye.
Taking steps is easy... Standing still is hard :notes:
why isn't Natasha Lyonne as Nicky Nichols listed ?
This show is so funny, they could not make it better if they tried. Literally the best cast for this kinda comedic showdown i should call it. If you haven't seen it yet go and watch it i guarantee you will laugh.
Show used to be okay but the last season was pre deplorable just just really to me was just just boring and stupid
I am patiently waiting for the new season!
i got rick rolled....FUCK OF
#Shiftv #ShiftvW8
Season 3 Episodes 3 until the end of the season NO Streams?????? In other words. I cannot finish watching this wild and crazy show....?????
#ShiftvW8
For myself I feel the show lost something this year.
just started watching love it!!!!! #ShiftvW8
So season 5 is going to be released week-by-week now? As opposed to until now, when the whole season was released instantly ?
It appears 6/19 will be the release of season 4? Is the app correct?

lol I started watching it out of curiosity actually, because I saw Laura Prepon in my dream and when I woke up I felt like I really wanted to watch her in something other than "That 70's Show" XD!!
So I decided to check this out and give it a try, I seriously didn't expect to like it at all, but once I started it, I'm hooked! It's really good, not what I expected at all. I only started watching it yesterday and already finished 7 episodes XD
Orange is the New Black, original Netflix TV show, is a rare gem. Under the apparent guise of comedy, the series reveals much deeper and, at times, poignant. Rich characters interpreted by actors who seem born for the role and a story that starts quietly and reaches heights of excellence entirely unexpected make Orange is the New Black an extra-recommended show. Waiting for the fourth season!
Good stuff.

I have to say I am totally loving this series.. After prison break I thought no one would ever make prison look so cool

What a great drama, watch the characters unravel as the series rolls along,Uzo Aduba playing Suzanne warren is truly outstanding,I would watch series for her performance alone.
Cannot wait for next series, Up there with Breaking bad.
Don't miss it.
This season is lacking. The first two were jam-packed with interesting storylines and revealing backstory. This season's "mini-plots" within the jail had me bored. The past two seasons were binge watched within a few days because the were so entertaining that they had me on the edge of my seat. This season was binge watched within a few days because I was desperate and hopeful to see if the next episode would be better than the last. I was not impressed with season 3, and I don't think it was worth the one year wait!
Need to see more of Alex! :(
Can't wait for season 4
Really really good. Extremly addictive and hilarious. Every single character well developed. If you have not seen this yet - watch it, you potatoes with eyes! :D
Maybe isn't the best show ever but is really amazing and incredible
Read the Book if you like the show !
How can anyone not like or love this show? It's so absolutely hilarious, it's so naughty its great, i'm not a fan of lesbians but this show my god cracks me up.
addictive and crazy
@pinitrius
It took me a while til I decided to watch the first episode. I already watched almost everything there is( this season), I was really surprised and I'm glad I gave OitnB a try!
Great show to watch together with my wife on the couch. It is hilarious sometimes and has some nice mindfucks =]
Not the best show I have seen but it is kind of addictive and easily watched. I didn't find my fix for Game of Thrones withdrawal symptoms but it is definitely watchable and quite funny at times. I would say it has a nice and easy flow to it that makes you want to see just one more episode.
not extremely good, but surprisingly addictive, actually love it!
I binge-watched it, couldn't stop myself
Amazing season 2 :)
If you plan to start watching this show, plan to marathon it. I tried to watch only the first episode to see if I liked it. The next thing I knew, the sun was rising and I was almost ready to start the second season.
This has quickly become one of my absolute favourite shows.
I wasn't the greatest fan of the first season, though I liked it. But in the alst episodes I got a bit bored. The second one, however, I loved it. Not only it keeps being groundbreaking in terms of representation, feminist views, sexual diversity...but also, the story got better and better.
Surprisingly very good.... Only watched 3 episodes so far but loving Piper & co
ALWAYS SO RUDE THAT ONE
So addicted to this show it's scary! I watch the entire season in like a day and a half, then watched season 1&2 back to back because I missed not having it on!!
Why is it pinhead writers can't help but inject their politics into everything. What does global warming have to do with anything in a women's prison. The warden and the counselor guy just continue to get more cartoonish as oppressive white males.
ya thats right adjpg watching woman with another woman that's really disgusting me
Love this TV Series
Just too much lesbian sex for me. No thanks. And that bloody tampon on a sandwich was also pretty disgusting.
Would be even better show without too graphical lesbian sex scenes.
Very nice show, with some great acting!
It's amazing, I really love this show.
Love this show. Only wished I didn't have to wait a year to watch more
The season 2 finale is freaking great :D
finally i finished it , this show can't be great more! it just shows that not a single person is perfect such as Piper or Fig, they both made mistakes but those mistakes made them reality
So damn excited for season 2! awesome show
Funny at some parts .. Good one
Very good show, few days to GO

Orange Is The New Black is really a good show, and much different compared to other shows which are currently high rated.
The writers don't need that long to build up the characters. This is what I don't like at the beginning of many shows, because most of the time this is the boring part - until the whole story starts to develop. In Orange Is The New Black you got kicked in right from the start.
The actors are really good . All of them. And well written; and I got to admit that my favorite character is "Red". Not just because Kate Mulgrew played Captain Kathrin Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager, but because the character is build up so strong, and she's got so many facets.
You also get to know her in more backflashes (that explains how the people got into the prison). Some TV shows are using backflashes as well to explain some things, and usually I find that annoying, because it is a hard cut in the current plot; but the director in Orange Is The New Black is doing that so well, that it doesn't me bother at all - just the opposite: I want to know why the women got in there.
After watching the first three episodes I wrote that the show shouldn't be drama. It should be a comedy show. That is not true, after I watched the other episodes. Yes, there are funny scenes in it, but it defiantly got the strong drama parts as well.
I highly recommend to give this show a try, because you might wanna love it!
