Outlander: Season 4

4x02 Do No Harm

Truly heartbreaking to watch it knowing this happened in America for centuries. They're still almost a century behind the Civil War and they're in the region where the Charlottesville marches took place. It's horrifying to know it was seen as normal and even worse to realize that three centuries later there are still some people who would abide by this were it still the law.

My heart is broken after that episode. All the hate, all the suffer, it all because of a color of skin, because of ignorance, of power over other people, of money. The humanity went wrong.

One of the saddest episodes of this show. What makes it so sad is that you know this truly happened, and so many lives were lost like this. It's honestly horrifying how the human nature could've been this vile.

The story of Rufus was very tragic and heart-breaking, I was still crying some time after watching this episode. Claire and Jamie had to face a really terrible choice in this story, it was particularly terrifying to Claire who saved the boy's life only to have to poison him to give him a less painful death that the mob intended for him. I fear she would have to face many such dilemmas if she and Jamie are going to stay in America. What began as a more peaceful part in the life of the Frasers, turned out to be one of the most devastating tales.
