Hopefully next season brings at least a few happy moments for the Frasers... and a better version of the Skye Boat song.
This show is lucky for having great characters that we've grown to care deeply about and would continue to watch no matter what. Because if it weren't for them, the ridiculous and pointless amount of rape storylines would've made me give up on it long ago. It's like a rite of passage for every single one of them. Enough already.
This series authors obsession with gratuitous sexual violence is tiring and gross. I made it this far with the show so I shouldn't be suprised, but doing it to Claire, such beloved character, was just so cruel. I could barely watch it. Jaime, Bree and Claire have all been raped. And for what? To further the plot, to make it dramatic and angsty. Yes those were dangerous times, blah blah, we know. I'm sick of watching women being raped on television, i'm sick of gritty and twisted. I like Outlander, yes, but mostly for the heartwarming stuff - Jaime eating Pb&j sandwiches, Claire and Jaimes epic love, found families, cinematography. Not this. For God's sake.
This was one of the most painful episodes I have ever seen... Was this plot necessary for the series? It appeared randomly after a glance of the plaque saying Dr. Rawlings by Lionel, but was it necessary all of that rape? First, they were afraid she was a witch and would kill them all, and the next second they are all raping her?? Besides thinking it wasn't necessary for the plot (so many stories can be created for that time and era and for all characters and they chose more raping?!), it was very painful to watch all episode due to an outstanding interpretation by Catriona Balfe. And those 70s thoughts? What were they adding to the show? Until next year Outlander...
Again? Rape? Oh Lord! It is definitely a disgusting matter but come on writers! This is enough and you’ve already made this at least every season! Becauae of the strong actors the show is watchable this season but otherwise this seaaon was a garbage in most episeodes..
One of the most difficult hours of television I’ve ever had to sit through. To see Claire - a character so selfless, warm and strong - in such a shattered state was absolutely heart-wrenching . A powerful performance from Caitriona Balfe.

Not again. One recent rape was enough. There's no need for it. At least it did not end with that. It was so upsetting. This season was not great and rather boring. I was gonna watch all previous seasons before this one because the show is so great. I'm glad I did not. So next season 8 years or so of war during the American Revolution? I'm one of the English by the way!
The rape thing is getting overused indeed. Also, is there anywhere in their contracts that demands Claire and Jamie to have sex at lease 3 times per episode? DAMN, we get it, you have chemestry, you love each other, but by now it just feels like 50 shades of grey for the 19th century.
At times this is a beautiful show and I love the actors. But I did not like the scenes in the future this time. It just didn't fit right for me. Also, I am tired of the rape scenes in this show. They go on too long. Not a good season finale at all.....

Best of the season, but doesn’t really further any plot. This whole season was mostly a snooze fest.
what was even the point of that plotline other to traumatise claire again like damn
I'm used to books which have trigger warnings before such things... This was a taugh one. I paused a lot, I skipped a lot, I paced around the room a lot...
I was somewhat okay with the last one bc it wasn't Claire but this? It changes my view on Claire entirely (not bad not good just I'll probably be reminded of these scenes everytime watching her)
The one thing is good that Jamie doesn't react like any other men would. He survived it, even when he didnt want to with her by his side. That's the freshness of another R in the series.
"I survived f*** WWII and I'm supposed to be broken by this?" I love her, she's so strong. 90% of the show I forget how strong she is and then we have a season finale. The show should be more balanced. Amazing last scene tho.
At this point the author and the writers are just like Oprah: You're getting raped, and you're getting raped, EVERYBODY gets raped.
Shame to use such a violent assault on anyone this much.
It is good that Jamie and his men managed to rescued Claire, the visions she conjured to survive her ordeal were interesting, it would be great to see the whole Fraser family in the 20th century. Though I think that it would be better to move the assault on Claire to the next season and end on the more optimistic note of Bree's family going through the stones. It is a bit surprising that they didn't make it to the 20th century, though I guessed it might be so because the scenery hadn't really changed after their passed. Now, there are two alternatives, either they all feel so at home at Fraser's Ridge that when they thought about home, they were transferred back, or alternatively, the stones they were using did not exist anymore in the 20th century so it was a sort of a dead-end and they bounced back to the original stones. This might be the case since nothing was known for certain about the American stones and where they led to. It that was what happened, it obviously resulted in Bree and her family homing to their previous location.
As someone who has read the 5th book but not the 6th this last episode was... unexpected.

Sometimes I feel like they "overuse" the raping plot. Almost all the main characters have been raped: Jamie, Claire, Fergus, Ian, Brianna... There's so much other things that could change a character. I just can't see the reason of this.
