Parks and Recreation

Season 4

On par with the previous season. If it was for me they could cut all things related to Ben. He's probably the least funny character on the show. Even Andy has its moments (silly but funny at times). Besides Leslie, Ron is the still the best and most interesting character.

This show isn't getting better I'm afraid. It's solid sitcom gold. But nothing more. Funny, enjoyable, with tons of likeable characters. It's family entertainment. It has no real story to tell. Nobody cares about Ben's and Leslie's relationship. All satirical political and critical lines about local government (that still were there in season 2), are completely eradicated. The town hall? The campaign? Local government? That's all just a meaningless backdrop for this season.

Leslie Knope wants your vote as she runs for city council in Season 4 of Parks and Recreation. With the support of her coworkers Leslie takes the plunge into politics, but finds that she’s hopelessly outmatched by her opponent and that her relationship with Ben leaves her vulnerable. Meanwhile, Tom tries to get his new business up and running, Ron’s first wife makes a play for him, and Andy goes back to school. Patricia Clarkson, Paul Rudd, and Kathryn Hahn join the cast as recurring guest stars and make for some interesting and fun characters. Also, the political satire about election campaigns is pretty clever and outlandishly funny. Another solid season, Season 4 of Parks and Recreation continues to deliver wacky antics and entertaining laughs.

After having finished watching The Office, I got back to Parks and Recreation. And while Season 4 is still funny, my hopes that (as did The Office) P'n'R would get better after the good but not outstanding first season were, not fulfilled: I am going to continue to watch this show but currently I do not think that I will ever love it the same way as I did The Office (or Friends, Scrubs or Big Bang Theory for that matter)!
