Robert Baxt is proud of the fact that he has never had a "real" job. After putting himself through college with money he earned from doing kids' birthday party shows, he was presented with the dual opportunities of being accepted to both Ringling Bros. Clown College, and to Law School. Without hesitation, our hero chose the one that would better for his comedy career: Law School! But after graduating with a juris doctorate degree and taking the Bar exam, Robert never practiced law and proceeded on to a full time career in show business. With his comedy magic act, he won both the 1st Prize in the National I.B.M. Gold Medal Stage Competition (Lance Burton handed him the trophy and Robert claims it still has his DNA on it!), followed the next year by a FISM trophy for Comedy in Madrid, Spain.
Worker’s Magician’s Insurance Policy This commercial routine, which evolved over years of real world trial and error, entertainingly combines audience participation and the classic ‘magician in trouble’ ploy. The Insurance Policy is the surprise final revelation of a four selected card routine. Psychic Connection A spectator uses a special ‘psychic key’ to unlock their psychic abilities. A playing card is freely selected sight unseen. The spectator then randomly cuts the deck into three piles. The top card of each pile identifies the color, suit and value of the selected card. For an eerie surprise ending the three digit number created by the cut to cards is found engraved on the fob of the ‘Psychic key’. Flip Hallema is best known worldwide for his extremely popular FL!P stick move where long objects like magic sticks, pencils, fans, etc. appear and disappear. This effect is now used by many magicians around the world. Flip developed a stage act giving him 1st prize for General Magic at the National Congress in Eindhoven in 1969. He later developed the Duplicate Magic act, a quiet song that he has shown in many countries. Flip Hallema was born the son of the architect Guido Hallema and An Faber. He learned the first tricks from his father at age nine. From age 12 Flip started inventing his own unique tricks. After the Academy, he worked as a graphic and industrial designer. Bill to Ice Cube- A vanished borrowed bill appears frozen in an ice cube that has been in the spectator's drink the entire time. Cut and Restored Sausage- A sausage is cut into pieces and the spectator signs a selected slice. Mike Powers has been in the magic scene for over forty years. In 1978 Mike met Ed Marlo and became a welcome guest at the Marlo table in Chicago. With Marlo’s guidance, Mike published his first book, Powerful Magic in 1983. Contributors included Simon Aronson, Dave Solomon, Jay Sankey, Gary Kurtz and Marlo himself. Subsequently Mike has published three more books – Top Secret Stuff (1993), Power Plays (2006) and Tesseract (2019). Power Plays was voted Book of the Year in 2006 on the Magic Café and was runner up Book of the Year in the Magic Industry Awards. Mike’s magic has appeared in every major magic publication and in the books of Paul Harris, John Born, Peter Duffie and others.
Katrina Kroetch (AKA Magical Katrina) has performed her unique blend of playful and whimsical magic all over the world in Africa, India, Mexico, Europe, and America. She is a volunteer and advocate with Magicians Without Borders and the non profit Emergency Circus. She has been a cast member of the international touring show Champions of Magic and has been on numerous network television shows including Masters of Illusion and Penn and Teller: Fool Us . She has also performed in the virtual magic show for the Magic Castle and Academy of Magical Arts. She was featured for her magic in the Washington Post and in an article about Virtual Magic Shows in the Wallstreet Journal.
Adrian Lacroix is an illusionist and inventor from Buenos Aires, Argentina. His interest in magic began at the age of 8, after watching David Copperfield performing on TV. Being self-taught, he spent his youth and teen years, immersed in that world. At 17, he was already performing in restaurants and private events doing "close-up magic". For the last 10 years he has been performing in some of the most prestigious theaters in Buenos Aires. At his private events he usually performs for politicians, celebrities and companies CEOs. In 2020 he did an intimate performance for the President of Argentina and his family. Allan Zola Kronzek is a NY Times bestselling author, educator, and sleight-of-hand artist. His innovative programs—a blend of conjuring, science, history and art—have been featured in schools, colleges, and libraries throughout the Northeast. He is the author of six magic-centric books, including The Secrets of Alkazar, a highly regarded introduction to magic, Artful Deceptions, a collection of impromptu card magic, 52 Ways to Cheat at Poker, and most recently, Grandpa Magic, a treasury of tricks and stunts designed to make grandpa the coolest guy on the block. His original material has appeared in Genii, MUM, Vanish, The Linking Ring, Apocalypse, and Cricket Magazine. As a strolling and close-up performer, he regularly performs for the rich and famous in the fashionable Hamptons, where he lives, unfashionably, with his wife, the artist Ruby Jackson. Several of his original card routines are performed by magicians around the world.
AAlexander Marsh is the pen-name of professional mentalist Alex McAleer, who has been a working performer since 2007. Under his pen-name, Alex has written several books including ‘Hybrid Mentalism’ and ‘Head Wired’, he has lectured at the prestiges Magic Circle, and contributed to several other mentalism publications including works by Jerome Finley, Elliott J. Bresler, and Banachek. As well as performing at the usual private parties and corporate events, he has made countless television appearances around the world including ITV’s Good Morning Britain (UK), Seven Network’s Today Tonight (Australia), and NBC’s Access Hollywood (USA). In 2019 Alex appeared on BBC’s Blue Peter, the worlds longest running children’s television program.
Zee was one of the slowest learner among his magician friends when he was just starting out. Others were able to learn and perform routines within a few days only, but it usually took Zee weeks to get down merely the techniques from those routines. That made Zee think, "maybe the reason I can't do these moves is because these moves are flawed!" Ever since Zee blamed the problems on the magicians who designed those routines and techniques rather than accepting his untalented hands, he has been focusing on streamlining the routines and simplifying the techniques that he already knows rather than trying to learn something new every other day. Zee has suffered from not being able to learn magic just by watching/reading explanations, so he knows the pain and also knows how to relieve the pain. Eric Buss was born in Tucson, Arizona. When he was born, the doctors all laughed at him. Cork Trick – A great impromptu trick, Pixel Pop – A Minecraft pixel magically pops out of a phone. Appearing Cup & Toilet Paper – Make a cup appear or take an empty roll of toilet paper it becomes full roll. Card Mentalism Principle – A spectator selects a card, places back into the deck. When shuffled, the magician knows it. Un-Forking-Believable – First you make an apple float. Then you reveal that there was a fork behind the apple the entire time. Repeat. At this point the spectators know how the apple floats, but where are the forks coming from! Morphing M&Ms – You transform a mini M&M tube into a box of M&Ms. T&R – Tear a signed card in half and place the two pieces on the card box. The card is restored. Diamond Cutter – a spectator picks a card, You find their card...but you got it wrong. No problem.
