Physical 2021

Shout by Deleted

Me nor my wife could even make it to episode two. It’s not the subject matter, we’re both interested in that. It’s the fact that the whole show is just terrible. The writing, the acting, the pacing and the misplaced mid to late eighties and some nineties terms that were not around in 1981. So it’s also poorly researched culturally. No one said “biotch” in the early 80’s and no one shortened radical to “rad” until 83 or 84. I’m a former pro skateboarder raised in California in the eighties so yeah, I know “rad” history. Way to phone it in Apple.

Good soundtrack, every single adult on this show is a terrible broken individual. It’s engaging but very bleak. A little over the top or maybe that’s just 80’s California.

Set in the 80s with an 80s soundtrack? Rose Byrne as a housewife who wants something better? Yep. All in.

The show as moments where it really shines but that's sadly not enough.

Rose Byrne aces this self-depricating, double-faced piece of work. A treat of a character arc to watch unravel. Quality dark comedy, settings and atmosphere get an A+ as well. However, it's a moral dump of a show, going to even darker places and sending out messages that you might be not that comfortable with in this era, but the hook of this meek-to-monster transformation is way stronger than I expected.

A very nice show with good character building and an interesting story arc. Not for the lovers of simple entertainment delivered directly in vein.

Won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but if you appreciate Rose Byrne, good writing and relatively bleak themes, it’s hard not to get hooked.

[tv+] There is something that doesn't work in this proposal, shy in its approaches and off-center in its development. Set in the 80s, with elements of the 90s and aesthetics of the 70s, the story is also anachronistically chaotic, weak in an empowerment that fits badly with that period and repetitive in the neurotic representation of its protagonist, which is performed with conviction by actress Rose Byrne.

Really, really amazing TV Show! I loved it and I can't wait for Season 2 to come (it has already been announced that the show will be renewed).

Won't appeal to all audiences. But I liked it, seems a show so about women empowerment and their struggles in the 80's.
