Governor Schwarzenegger visits Xzibit, Mad Mike and the entire "Pimp My Ride" crew at G.A.S. (Galpin Auto Sports), as they take aim on a '65 Chevy Impala, and give it a one of a kind ecological alteration. Ultimately proving that power and preservation can co-exist thanks to partners at Galpin, Imperium Renewables, General Motors and others, the Impala gets an 800 horsepower diesel engine that will run on biodiesel, turning it into one extraordinary clean machine!
Today I went off the deep end and bought a 1999 Dodge Caravan that was used in the super popular, early 2000s MTV show "Pimp My Ride." It hasn't really withstood the test of time though. At least it was cheap, right?
Today starts the beginning of the build portion of my abandoned "Pimp My Ride" Dodge Caravan project. However, what I didn't know is that Jared started without me.
I decided that I had to give this van away, and there's only one person that would appreciate it as much as I would. But to get it to him, I would have to drive over 1,500 miles, halfway across the country. Things didn't exactly go as planned.

Wyatt's an 18 year who just moved to L.A. Wyatt believes his car is holding him back from landing a job and making a new start for himself in L.A.. This "micro-van" is held together with duct tape. Side doors consist of little more than sheet metal and rivets. But that's all about to change. Xzibit is about to pimp his ride.
Nile Invested $700 into her ride. Nile pretty much got what she paid for. Her ride has a broken tail-light that's either saggin' or draggin', flowering rust spots, a thick layer of dirt, slashed up seats, and an ex-boyfriend inflicted dent. Nile's father says "I wish my own daughter wouldn't park her car in my driveway." Her life is about to change. Xzibit is about to pimp her ride.
Logan's ride is sporting a smashed headlight, no radio, a broken driver's side window, twin dents on both sides, which Logan calls 'dimples', and fast food left in the back. Logan is in school aiming for a degree in business, so he needs a ride that means business. That suits Xzibit and the guys at West Coast Customs just fine because they're not here to play around. Xzibit is about to pimp his ride.
Christine's ride has a possessed alarm system that sounds for any little thing, a rusty banged up door that doesn't close, and when it rains, it pours inside of Christine's car. The water leaves a huge, murky puddle that can't be avoided. Her friends have labeled the Honda "swamp thing." Christine loves her grandmother so much she hates to have to bring her to the doctor's appointments in her car. Her ride is going into good hands. Xzibit is about to pimp her ride.
Antwon is a starving art student and his ride needs a desperate makeover. His "G" ride as he calls it, lacks a window, but he has a garbage bag covering it. The upholstery is ripped to shreds, the inside panel to the door is no more, the interior light is hanging on by a wire, the seats look like they're "undressing", and worst of all, this ride does not even have a radio. Antwon puts a boom box inside his car to listen to music. Xzibit and West Coast Customs come to the rescue and save his car. Xzibit is about to pimp his ride.
Mary's ride, "Matty Mustang" as she likes to call it, belonged to Mary's sister and her mother before it was passed onto her. Unfortunately, after 15 years with the fam, "Matty Mustang" needs a lot of work. The Mustang is three different colors, four if you count rust, the windows are broken, there is stuffing from the seats everywhere, and although the seat belts work, the seats aren't even bolted to the car, and there is no floor beneath the driver's chair. Mary is taking her life into her hands with this ride, but, after all of these years, Matty is family. Mary even took an auto shop class to try to fix up her Mustang, but soon found out shop wasn't her thing when she tried to super glue the car back together. Thankfully Xzibit is on the scene to help revive this family heirloom. Xzibit is about to pimp her ride.
Jared's ride is in rough shape. He delivers car parts for a living. Since the Ranger is less than reliable, Jared misses out on other jobs that he needs to make some money for school. With rotting paint, ripped-up seats, a zig-zag antenna and "bobble head" mirrors, Jared thinks that his other mode of transportation, skateboarding, would be safer than trusting in the Ranger. Jared doesn't have to worry anymore, because in the words of X, "We're going to take this pick up and really pick it up!" Xzibit is about to pimp his ride.
Danelle loves her ride because it's a classic American muscle car but it's lacking some necessities, like mirrors. Her cars problems are a duct-taped side mirror, extremely threadbare seats, leaks, five different shades of paint, and unknown missing objects that Danelle is pretty sure are important. She's gonna get the surprise of her life. Xzibit is about to pimp her ride.
Neil's truck, the Mikado version, has looks that not even a mother could love. With a hunk-of-junk camper on its back and mismatched wheels, this Chevy is getting Neil anything but love. His ride's system, is actually a boom box. Xzibit and West Coast Customs is gonna put the love back into his "luv" truck. Xzibit is about to pimp his ride.
Shonda's ride is so busted, there's a gaping hole in the ceiling. This, among other things, causes some trouble when it rains. There's also trouble for backseat passengers, one window is missing and the other won't roll down. And forget about listening to the radio, turning on the heat, or the air conditioning, ‘cause none of this stuff works. She seatbelts herself into the car by wrapping the broken belt around the back of the seat, and then tying it in front of her. She will soon have seatbelts and a whole lot more once the guys at West Coast Customs take on the job. Xzibit is about to pimp her ride.
Ezra is a Dj who volunteers to help mentally disabled children, teaching them how to be a dj. He is lookin for some help from Xzibit and the guys at West Coast Customs to turn his ride into an official pimp mobile. His car has 2 busted headlights, the interior is torn apart, bungi cords hold up the bumper, and the car has two logo's, Nissan and Datsun. Ezra's "Maximus" as he likes to call it, needs serious help. Xzibit is about to pimp his ride.
Krissy's ride was designed to be steady and durable, but it has a crooked tailpipe, old school tape deck and broken doors. Krissy had flipped the car in an off-road accident, and the car's condition has declined at a steady pace ever since. Wintergreen chewing gum barely keeps the door's lining from falling down, and an absence of windshield wipers makes it impossible for Krissy to drive in the rain. It's no surprise that Krissy's friends always steer clear of the car, which they describe as "busted and rusted." Krissy has battled drug addiction during her teenage years, and has since turned her whole life around. Currently she is going to school, and working for a PhD in psychology. Krissy thinks that her car deserves a repair to match her personal life, and that's where Xzibit comes in. Xzibit is about to pimp her ride.
Brian's ride suffers from scratches along its entire body from numerous crashes and his bumpers are being held together by screws that Brian installed himself. His car is literally screwed! The engine is held together by bungee cords and the car usually breaks down. Brian recently received a successful kidney transplant. This explains why Brian's car is full of empty water bottles which he must drink constantly to keep himself hydrated because of his sensitive condition. His "Pocket Rocket" as he calls it needs to be brung back to life. Xzibit is about to pimp his ride.
Gaby is a yoga instructor with nothing in the world but her yoga mat and her ride. Her ex-boyfriend sold her the Land Cruiser for $200, but the ride was in bad condition and it didn't have any doors. Gaby's ride also has a shovel and an axe attached to it and it's locked and she doesn't even have the keys to unlock them. When Xzibit finds this car in distress, he will come to the rescue. Xzibit is about to pimp her ride.
Kerry, moved from Fargo, North Dakota to Sunny California with his family. The car he owns is some sort of beast made out of two '89 Ford Escorts welded and glued together. The car is in terrible shape and is unsafe for one of his little sister's who sits in a car seat when he drives around in the car. Unfortunatly Kerry's car cannot be fixed. Xzibit has has a plan and gets Kerry a brand new car. Kerry and his family doesn't have anything to worry about. Xzibit is about to pimp his new ride.
Big Ron's 1984 Cadillac El Dorado is a far cry from the literal translation meaning "the gilded one." After losing the vinyl top on the freeway and the front grill decided to take a left turn while the car went right, it is clear this baby is in desperate need of some West Coast Customs lovin'. Kiearah's 1991 Ford Escort looks more like an art project than a reliable mode of transportation. After all, her boyfriend had a little too much fun spray painting her non-existent hub caps and tires after taking out most of the dashboard. In addition, the body of the car is all beat up after a stray shopping cart decided to tango with her car. X can't help but laugh at Kiearah's makeshift AC, which is a house fan plugged into a power converter mounted on the dashboard. It is clear the Escort needs an escort to West Coast Customs. Kiearah teaches students to dance hip hop and she wants to become a lead singer in a band. She deserves a better car. Xzibit is about to pimp her ride.
X and the boys at West Coast Customs are more than ready to pimp yet another ride. A fanatic surfer, high-school student Ryan says he's spent a goldmine on his 1956 Volkswagen van, and although the epoch vehicle is windowless, covered with rust, and must be hotwired in order for the engine to start, Ryan claims that it is the car of his dreams. Xzibit is about to pimp his ride.
Alice's Chevy Suburban could be easily mistaken for a mobile junk yard. While most Suburbans sport roomy passenger seating, Alice's ride is filled with tires suited for monster trucks. No wonder Alice and her friends are embarrassed to cruise in this ride. Xzibit is about to pimp her ride.
Erin's 1987 Chevy Blazer is far from blazin' these days. The monster of a ride looks like a monster with dents galore, chipping paint and Erin even has to use a screwdriver to open the doors! Erin wants a ride that represents her hardworking and determined personality, not a hunk of junk. After all, she bought this ride with her own money when she was only 16 years-old, and since then, has sunk about 10G's into the Blazer. This ride is in need of some serious help, and fast. Josh's 1988 Acura Legend is far from legendary--it barely qualifies as a vehicle when we first meet him. A chain and padlock hold down the hood and the electrical wiring is so confused, the windshield wipers go off every time Josh honks his horn. Josh teaches inner-city kids, so he needs a ride that they can respect and one that shows the kids that decent, hardworking people are paid back in life. Xzibit is about to pimp his ride.
Quoc-Viet had good intentions when he tried to customize his 1989 Nissan 240SX. While buying an assortment of custom body parts for his ride had seemed like a good idea, actually installing the parts was another problem. The double-sided tape holding together the body kit has begun to lose its grip. In place of the passenger's seat, there's a radiator fan, headlights, gaming controllers, and more random stuff that has no business being there. Despite the fact that Quoc-Viet's rearview mirror is adorned with lucky charms, the car is a disappointment to his girlfriend and family. Luckily, the crew is ready to transform this junk pile into the car of his gaming dreams. Xzibit is about to pimp his ride.
West's 41-year-old ride is over twice his age, but no one is sure how much longer this Ford Fairlane is going to ride on. With nothing but tape holding it together in places, West may have to begin to look for a new whip, unless the guys at West Coast Customs get on the job, and quick. When Xzibit rolls on into the garage with the Fairlane, the boys can't believe their eyes. This ride is definitely a classic, but not exactly practical for a 19-year-old guy about to start college. Seeing that West wants to go to college to become a mechanic, the WCC guys decide to leave the Fairlane just as it is for him to one day fix up himself with his future mechanic skills. West still needs a ride though, and no one leaves West Coast Customs without a smile on their face, and an ultra-hot ride. X gets on the horn, and before we can say "pimped out ride," a brand new, 2005 Toyota 4Runner pulls into the garage. Now the WCC boys have something they can work with. Josh got into an accident with a RV and now his ride looks like it got into a fight with a shark! This car does NOT go in reverse! to reverse the car, he actually has to get out and push! I bet he's glad he don't live on a hill, imagine how bad that would be!!!
Heather's Ride is in a state! Paint is pealing off, big black patches on a white truck, what is it meant to be, a cow! She seriously does not know how to take care of a ride, the brake pad's were...well they were, none existence, bare metal, doesn't that screeching sound make something click up in there!!
Now we have seen it all, a college student called Tin, driving a soccer mom's car! a Mini van, just ready to pick up the kids from school!! Tin describes the state of the mini van as a "Dump", maybe that's where it should be! The mini van has chunks of paint missing, parts of the car all over the floor inside the car and even an old Burger that's started decomposing! This ride needs some serious pimping to say the least, and it's in the right hands for exactly that.
Alex is a special education teacher and a magician who loves working with kids. His ride has been though it all, the horn don't work, so he uses a Air Horn, and he's even got a backup! His sound system consisted of a portable stereo, his convertible top wouldn't come down so he decided to tear off the fabric and just leave an open top with a frame around it, and he don't not even have a back seat!

The '73 Volkswagen Thing is Erin's passion. She's a groomer for small animals and she loves snakes. She bought "The Thing" for $5,000 by selling 3 pigs. Only Xzibit and the guys at GAS can help her now.
Monique's 94' Mitsubishi Galant can use some help. She calls her car "Sugar Honey Iced Tea" and if you put the capital letters together, you can guess why she named it that. She works for a financial planning company and she's passionate about her poetry. She takes care of her two sisters and if she gets her car pimped, there's no doubt she will take care of it too. Because of his love of both Transformers and all kinds of candy, his car's pimping includes a "Transforming" back seat that slides open to reveal the sound system and monitors, and a cotton candy machine in the trunk.
In honor of Jonathan's love of comic books (and the Fantastic Four in particular) and surfing, the car was painted with "Silver Surfer" chrome, and the interior done up with Fantastic Four accents, including a comic keeper replacing the glove box (loaded with a copy of Fantastic Four #48—the issue in which the Silver Surfer premiered—valued at US$4000) and a rear A/V/Xbox setup inspired by The Thing. He was also presented with a custom "Silver Surfer" surfboard. Nicknamed "Zippy" by the owner

Esmerelda really likes the beach, so she had a Hawaiian Tiki god painted on the hood, and tiki gods stitched into the leather seats. In the trunk, a snow cone maker was installed, along with 2x150w Genesis waterproof subwoofers.
