This series is about the many foods that children enjoy eating. Over the week, we prepare and cook a range of dishes using both everyday and not-so-common ingredients. We also look at presentation and decoration, such as making a table cloth, table napkins and other craft ideas. We visit a farm to see where milk, eggs, vegetables and fruit are grown and find out about the foods that different animals like to eat. Every day this week the calendar is a kitchen chopping board with the name of the day written in oil and covered with flour. When the board is shaken, the day is revealed.

Make a Train:
Use some old milk cartons to make a train with carriages. The cartons could be painted or covered with paper, windows drawn in with people looking out and a track made of corrugated cardboard. The railway station could be a large box from the supermarket; the train carriages could be joined using pipe cleaner. Fun for a rainy day, especially if older brothers or sisters help set it up.

Make a Gingerbread Man:
You could make some gingerbread men, using a simple biscuit recipe and a cookie cutter. Add eyes nose and mouth with icing, and you could decorate the gingerbread men with buttons, stripey jackets or using any other idea.
