FINDING NURSERY RHYMES

• See how many Nursery Rhymes you can find that mention cows or sheep.

DIFFERENT FLAVOURED MILKSHAKES

• If you enjoy milkshakes, you could try other combinations. You might like to try milk with a little honey and a banana, or a ripe pear and milk.

CREATE YOUR OWN FARM

• You could make your own farm out of boxes, or perhaps play dough or cut outs from a magazine, or whatever you like.

FARMERS

To make your own farmers, you can use cardboard rolls and decorate them to make Farmer Jill and Farmer Pete. They can be dressed and decorated in many different ways; using whatever materials you have available.

BALL GAMES

• Next time you go for a picnic, take a large ball. There a many different games you can play with a ball and everybody, including grandparents or younger brothers, sisters, cousins or friends can join in. What about Tunnel ball? Everybody stands in a long line with their legs apart, and the leader rolls the ball as far as possible, through the legs. Repeat the fun with the next person.

GUESS THE ANIMAL

• Play "I'm thinking of an animal that goes…" and make the appropriate noise. Whoever guesses first has the next turn. This is fun on a long car journey.

To make fun hats you will need:

Matt decorated his Punchinello hat with Pom poms, and some crayon features, finishing it with stickers.
Meanwhile Justine added shiny shapes, and crayons marks to her regal crown.

FINDING ANIMALS

• You could find pictures in books or magazines of other animals with four legs, a tail and with a coat of either wool or hair.

MAKING PLAY DOUGH ANIMALS

• There are special names for baby animals e.g. a sheep and her lamb, or a horse and foal. See how many you can think of and make some families out of play dough or scrap material.
DO YOU FEEL LIKE DANCING?

• Do you feel like dancing sometimes? Ask someone to put on a cd or the radio and dance around the room or outside, in any way you feel like.

BUILD YOUR OWN CITY

• There are many interesting things to see in the city. E.g. the different buildings, parks, fountains, buses, bridges, boats, trams and many cars. Next time you drive or walk through the city, describe some of the objects to someone, and then play "city building" with blocks or boxes when you return home.

OWN RESTAURANT

• Have you ever been to a restaurant? You could make a restaurant and your toys or friends could visit. All you need are a few chairs, a table and someone to help prepare the simple food.

• Next time you visit the library, see how many books you can find about cows or sheep.

Matt added four cardboard cylinders to form Doric Columns as ornate decoration, to the Cardboard box "Art Gallery"

Karen added cardboard steps and ramp to a box building. Then she put on a lift to take customers to the rooftop restaurant.
The restaurant consisted of a plastic salad bowl upside down. Karen added paper trees and plants to add to the ambience of the "Garden Restaurant"

EGG DECORATION

• Next time you have a hard boiled egg, you can draw a face on it with a texta, and add some decorations e.g. ear rings, a bow in the hair, or add a cap or hat. If you would prefer simple patterns, then they can be easily drawn onto the egg.

POST A LETTER

• Send a card to a friend or relation, and place a stamp on it before putting it in the letterbox.

HOW TO MAKE RICOTTA PIE

To make ricotta pie you will need:

• 500 grams of Ricotta Cheese
• 50 grams of grated Parmesan cheese
• Chopped flat parsley
• Thyme leaves
• 2 eggs

Method:
Place in a food processor the eggs, Parmesan cheese, ricotta cheese and herbs. Mix the ingredients and pour into a greased 20 cm pie dish.
Bake at 180c for half an hour, until the top is brown, and the pie has puffed up.
Serve with a garnish of small red tomatoes and sprigs of flat parsley.
