Exceeded my wildest expectations, which were admittedly low, when I first heard it was announced. Brutal (way more than expected), characters on point especially Cassidy. Can't wait to watch more.
Pretty good Pilot!
I hope that the upcoming episodes doesn't disappoint me.
An alright setup considering there were so many characters, motivations, and clearly important pasts that will come into play. Being someone who hasn't read the source material, I'm very interested in the supernatural mysteries of the show.
Might be hard to watch week-to-week for that reason, though.
The kind of show Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez would be proud of. Preacher is slick, fun and kicks major ass.
I don't understand shit, why? XDD
This episode introduces the main characters, and sets up the story. Also, it hints at mysterious people and circumstances in their past. There is the drunk preacher with a criminal past who doesn't really care about his job too much, his murdering girlfriend who wants him to return to his evil ways, and the vampire being hunted down by a group of religious zealots. And then something escapes from somewhere and lands on Earth, killing several preachers (including Tom Cruise) until it settles into the one preacher of this series. This "something" seems to give the power to the Preacher to be obeyed when he commands it very forcefully --- albeit in a rather literal way: when the Preacher orders a man in his congregation to open up his heart to his nagging mother, he travels to her retirement home in Florida and literally rips out his heart and shows it to her. Therefore we immediately know that this thing possessing the Preacher cannot really come from God, or be up to any good in the end; it is probably something like the genie from the Twilight Zone that always twists the wishes asked of him into terrible consequences for the wisher. Hopefully the Preacher will somehow be able to get rid himself of the curse that is sure to damn him, given that he is shown as a sympathetic character that deep down actually cares for the well being of his flock.
And yes, the series has a comic-book character to it: bombastic things happen really fast.
Well the things begins god this series with, things that could not be open, for now continue to see
It was an interesting start, but also weird and a bit confusing. I don't know if I'm going to like this show, maybe I should've read the comics first.
amazing episode,i started to like this already! and Cassidy is funny, looking forward. amazing fight scene as well!
Interesting pilot!
I'm curious about some characters and where the plot is going.
Really like the fight scenes
Best thing on this episode? The soundtrack, by far.
Nice fan service playing Willie Nelson right in the beginning, as it's "playing" on the very first page of the comic book.
Beyond that, just an unfortunate mixture of storylines... If you've watched this as a fan of the comics and for it you are giving it a try (even after this episode), well, sad news: it doesn't improve, it's all downhill from here (at least until the 3rd episode... let's see if they fix at least a bit of this from the 4th and on).
Solid start, this keeps me interested, wonder where it'll be going :D
It is the time of the preacher!
Something new from the category of frostbitten series. We shall see!
Exactly what i wished for! Creators have a great imagination and sense of humor! Definitely waiting for full season
absolutely awesome! more blood than I expected, but really good!
Didnt have high expectations, but really had fun watching this. Hopefully they can keep this up,
Not bad at all. Loved Cassidy. And Tulip. Mixed feelings for Custer.
Reminds me a little of True Blood, without mushy mushy love involved,
but hey you never know... a little bit messy with the timeline and places,
but definitely worth watching more episodes!
Pretty solid first episode. Different from the comics but that's to be expected. Can't wait to see how the rest of the season goes!

So fucking enjoyable. Also never mind all the blood, guts and violence, that dude swallowing a tea bag was the grossest thing in the episode.
