A lot of good actors are in this. Damien Dahrk from Arrow, Enzo from TVD, Ksenia Solo from Lost Girl, and Nina from Alphas. Sort of makes me miss Manhattan, though.

First episode was better than I was expecting. There's a bit of an X-Files vibe going on.

A little darker than the 70s version. A cast made up of supporting characters from a bunch a show.

Neal McDonough from Justified is always good (he was also in the first Captain America movie).

It's hard for me to get past my dislike of Enzo to watch this.

THE X-FILES and the Cold War combined with a pretty Russian spy? It's like catnip to someone like me. The only true silliness was the insanely stupid plane crash, where they doubled down afterwards with the talk of following the flight path "exactly" -- and in a different type of plane, as well. That stuff was...not good. But everything else was right in my wheelhouse.

Petyr Baelish and Lorenzo St. John make up for a weird partnership... Joking aside, I'm glad the former isn't being a manipulative dick, anymore, and the latter is finally starring in what is shaping up to be a genuinely good show.

I definitely enjoyed this premiere, despite the The X-Files cliché of pairing up a (sort of) believer with a skeptic (as well as other clichés, as someone pointed out elsewhere, there's even a Skinner and a Cigarette Smoking Man). There's already good chemistry between the two main guys, so that's promising.

I suspect (or I hope) this show will hit the spot and keep us entertained during the The X-Files second (definitive?) hiatus.

Really decent series opener. Idk why but Hynek reminds me alot of Welles on The Flash.

MEH FOR THE 1st EPISODE
A LITTLE TO SLOW AND BORING FOR ME AND ONLY GOT MY ATTENTION 5MINS FROM THE END, IF IT CARRIE'S ON LIKE THIS THERE'S NO WONDER THE SHOW GOT CANCELED, IT AIN'T NO
X FILES. I KNEW THAT PILOT WASN'T GOING TO MAKE IT OUT THE EPISODE ALIVE AND THAT PLANE CRASH WAS JUST RIDICULOUS AND BIZARRE FOLLIWING HIS EXACT FLIGHT PATH. I WAS READY TO CALL IT QUITS THEN ON THIS SHOW, I THOUGHT OH IF YOUR GOING TO BE SILLY FOR THE SAKE OF IT I'LL SEE MYSELF OUT, BUT LIKE I SAID LAST 5MINS AND A READ OF THE NEXT EPISODE JUST JUST KEPT ME IN, BUT THAT NEXT EP2 WANTS TO BE SOMETHING SPECIAL, AND THE ONLY CHARACTER I'M INVESTED IN IS THE MAIN GUY EVERYONE ELSE AM LIKE YEAH WHATEVER.
HOPING IT GETS MUCH MUCH BETTER AND LESS CONVOLUTED, COS THE EXECUTION OF EVERYTHING IS DAM RIGHT SLOPPY. LIKE I SAID THE SHOW GOT CANCELED ANYWAY AND I REALLY REALLY HOPE I DON'T SEE MORE WHY 5/10

We're off to a great start but I can't get over how this particular line bothered me:

Then tell me this -- If these saucers don't exist, then why so many reports? Why are people lying about what they see in the skies?

The best I could come up with to appease my mind was that he was testing Quinn there. There's no way a scientist would consider those reports as an indication of them telling the truth of the matter... Hopefully that was just dialogue to give Quinn a chance to explain himself to the audience lest we think he's there just to make sure Dr. Hynek toes the line. Quinn's answer was perfect, even though we still have to doubt him.
