If Hynek is becoming such a threat to them, why did they hire him in the first place? Makes absolutely no sense, since he's just doing the exact thing they hired him for.
Another good story. Hynek character is awesome
"You know, you've got to be the dumbest smart person I've ever met." Heh. I was surprised that they had Captain Skeptic see and experience wacky things this early in the show's run. And now, while he's mostly content to be on Team Coverup, he's also aware that there's much more to what's going on.

No much in the way of actual "action" this episode, but, they are successfully ratcheting up the tension, and the creep factor is steadily creeping upward. It's slowly dawning on the good Doctor that "Occam's Razor" may NOT be applicable here, and what is afoot may actually be zebras instead of horses. However his peripheral conscious is also warning him that to make such an admission within earshot of his current employers, would at best result in a substantial reduction in his take home salary, and at worst find him sitting at the wheel of some disabled conveyance, looking not unlike a fudge bar left too long without refrigeration.
The Captain however, having the equivalent American mentality of the German officers he just helped fight and defeat, if only in the sense that he is all too willing to use "I was just following orders" as a fall-back defense, clearly understands that, you HAVEN'T seen what you HAVE seen, until a superior officer confirms that you have SEEN it. Or, to paraphrase Winston Zeddemore, "if it affects my steady paycheck, I'll believe whatever you TELL me to believe".
IDK about you, but, even if it WAS a friendlier time, (in spite of all the rampant paranoia going around) ANYONE, (including a new BF that I really new nothing about) that I caught trying to open my front door without knocking first, would immediately be on my permanent persona non grata list ,even if they had next level carpentry skilz and the latest power tools. Just sayin'.
Not to go as far as calling this a "filler episode, because it DID advance the storyline and add a new possible mysterious baddie (or possibly goodie), but I look forward to next week's episode for hopefully a bit more elucidation.
