This A-plot was interesting, as always. The B-plot with Spy Gal working Mrs. Hynek was meh at best, and the last-minute conflict between the Hyneks was stupid and contrived and frustrating. The show doesn't need soap opera DRAMA! of this sort when the problem can be quickly solved with five minutes of honest communication. In fact, those last couple of minutes resulted in me dropping my grade for this one from an 8 to a 7.
Well, we all know what happened to Donna within the opening moments of this ep. Will it come out that she is a US spook? I pegged her as that from the first episode, but I’m not 100% sure going in…
Shit getting deep for sure now
@ Kinky - Nah, it's not just you, but Mrs Hynek is currently unaware that her BFF apparently swings both ways and is smitten with her.
There's an old saying that "when you point your finger at someone, there's THREE pointing back at you, and, all the while she's railing on about her husband keeping secrets, she's keeping more than her fair share. (the gun, reading his diary, blabbing everything that happens between them with a neighbor she barely knows, and she's too preoccupied with running her mouth to to see that she's the one sowing disharmony between her and her husband) Loose lips sink ships was the warning back in the day, and hers are the loosest in the neighborhood, second only to her recently disposed of cookie baker, Donna, and of course BFF Susie, who's zipped tight on the upper set, but, but prolly well worn in the nether regions. Better put in a call to the Docs at "Botched".
No win scenario giving hubby a me or the job ultimatum, especially back then. If he gives in you've emotionally emasculated him and figuratively castrated him, and in the end will no longer respect him, and he'll resent you from then on. The friction that is now occurring is IMO merely a symptom of a problem that has been festering, long before Project Blue Book. She is subconsciously unhappy with her assumed role in the family dynamic, and, yet, if he were suddenly there 24/7 and underfoot all the time, she would STILL be unhappy.
Meanwhile, the brothers in arms are acting like actual brothers, and beating the crap out of each other, while daddy Burke looks on beaming with pride at his ability to gaslight his subordinates and make them chase their tails, while their not so secret, secret weapon, implodes on itself, not however, before proving to be utterly devastating as either an immersion heater or an overly effective clapper, all bulbs needing replacement after one use. The episode had me wondering if Alfred Hitchcock was possibly read in on ol PBB, or if some of that gas made its way up to Bodega Bay. Just a thought.
All in all an interesting episode, but, as others have said, the writers need to decide if this is sci fi or telemundo.

Things are getting so weird in this show... And I love it!
Also, is it just my horny hormones, or is there some sexual tension between the two ladies?
