Proof 2015

Damn TNT for canceling this!

A rather lame exploration of the possibility of life after death. Great cast. Unimaginative writing. I give this series a 6 (fair) out of 10. [SciFi? Medical Drama]

I find it always difficult to watch a canceled show, especially one that´s been axed after the first season. But sometimes I´m curious as to why it has been canceled. This sounded interesting but to be honest, from where I stand, I can understand why it didn´t grip.

What promises an interesting story basically comes down to the usually ghost stories and stuff like floating above oneself, seeing loved ones and a lot of things shown before. Had it gone further I´m sure the scripts would have become repetitive and speculative (which might have been OK because ultimately there can be no "Proof"). But most of the time those NDE stories are just a background for a different story. As is the whole show because ultimately this is about Dr. Carolyn Tyler and how she deals with the death of her son. So this is more drama than Fantasy and Sci-Fi. Speaking of characters. I found Dr. Tyler is rather unlikeable. She is offensive, self centered and opinionated (althought she changes opinions back and forth and back again several times)

Not my kind of show - No characters to feel for and no story to interest me.

Despite an interesting premise, some good actors, and some characters with some depth - this just din't work for me. Too many plot holes, some dodgy theme development meant this didn't develop with all the potential it had.

About time! Really enjoy watching a show that explores one of the most significant unknown questions. Is it just easier for people to accept death if they think there is something after? Or....is it a fact, a part of our existence? I really hope TNT continues exploring the possibilities!

This seems to be linked to Body of Proof (2011). Any chance of fixing it?
