Rectify 2013

Now i've managed to see the finale and say goodbye to one of the best shows i've ever lived through, i can gather my thoughts:
I said lived through and i really mean it, as I saw myself in Amantha a lot of times and wished for more of her strength and heroism. Amantha's role in the show always resembled a strong link that binds the story together.

One thing was perfectly highlighted this season, is the clinically depressed mother and how it was affecting her children all along and how they can never unburden themselves from it. Another thing worth mentioning here is the soft jokes that slipped in this season and drew a smile on our faces without any forcing.

All in all, we leave the characters at a good place despite all the hurt they've endured and all the subtle farewells in their last lines.
So Farewell Rectify i hope TV will create something like you one day.

A stunning and carefully crafted story, superbly and respectfully acted/directed by a relatively little known cast together with a sublime visual feast. I truly believe this is at the peak of television even with such competition in this so called golden age of the craft. a slow burn certainly which appeals to me between episodes of GOT for example. this should be the water cooler subject of the moment and deserves much more love. a truly emotional, at times even heartbreaking journey but one with much to love.

2 episodes in and I have to say I'm pretty damn impressed. This show's charm lies in its slow and methodical approach and also its absolutely stunning visual. Granted not many people would be hooked because this show seems purposely set in real time while also in slow motion. But goddamnit it works. People should at least try to see the pilot. It's pretty damn good.

P.S.: Aden Young is fantastic - his portrayal as a distorted man is on point, at certain moments very serene, but also brutally dark when provoked. Very praise worthy performance.

One of the great dramas of the decade. Direction, acting and slow churn writing are second to none.

One of the many great shows from 2013, If you have yet to check it out, you should it's really good and the first season is quite short.

A terrible shame that Rectify is a rare series with a genuine moral sensibility in its text, yet its form and aesthetic is about as sophisticated as an amateur student film.

How this show isn't the beginning and end of every conversation about TV is beyond me. Brilliant.

Great, slow-burn series about a man readjusting to life after spending 20 years in prison. With visuals often reminding of Malicks style it's certainly unique next to the other shows airing.

I tried it but that show isn’t for me. I guess just because I like dramas like Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad and similar shows, doesn’t mean I like every drama show.

This is a slow, languid, leisurely stroll through a melancholy landscape. The cast does an amazing job of showing the widespread impact of a modern Rip Van Winkle trying to reintegrate with family and society. Although in no way similar to twin peaks, I had continuing feel of who killed laura palmer.

Excellent plot. Amazing writing. Good pacing. Characters with depth and proper development. Great Crew. Slow but a deep burn. Story of a man broken by unjust system and is trying to be a good man. Daniel holden is gripping character to watch through a screen. I would love to have a sequel movie to quench my desire.

"Niente di quanto è successo può essere rettificato (rectified)". L'ingiusta condanna di Daniel, quella mezza vita rubata, non si cancella: il lato crime della serie può anche essere risolto, ma non c'è sentenza che guarisca un'anima.

I watched 2 episodes, nothing kept me wanting to watch more and it soon became a distant memory and ended after 4 seasons. No plan to continue it, it seemed quite depressing.

Very interesting series. They should have ended it with the last season. The story was over. You keep seeing them trying to milk these series, but that's no good. Will see how this 4th season goes.

For some reason I feel that it would have fit the show better if they did not reveal the solution of the rape/murder. The ending episodes were a lot of crime show stuff.

Glad to hear it's been renewed for a 10 episode second season. Amazing first season.

Really great show.
Though some moments make you feel sad or disgusted, I can say I enjoyed every minute of every episode.
Hopefully this series gets renewed for a second season!
