Feels like this is the conclusion of their roman sub-plot (for now, I guess), and it's a good pausing point.
Not yet fully resolved, but it'll let Mordecai step back and analyze his life and whether or not it was worth it to spend so much time preoccupied on a girl who barely noticed him at first, then didn't tell him how she felt later on.
