An endlessly creative episode that is a fine bit of evolution from similar episodes of Dan Harmon's previous show, 'Community', like "Paradigms of Human Memory". The various twists on the episode's central concept were all inventive and well-executed. What's more, the episode had that undercurrent of darkness beneath all the madcap scifi weirdness that makes Harmon's (and Roiland's) brand of storytelling to engaging and fun while also being so potent. Sure, by the end of the episode the day is saved, but what's left is a pretty grim reality and the show doesn't shy away from that. Stellar outing from a season with a quite solid batting average so far.

Beth: Sorry Jerry, you're real.
Jerry: [crying] I'm a parasite!
