So the Black Hood is revealed and it turns out to be the janitor after all. The only thing worse than weeks of clumsily and blatantly shining a spotlight on a red herring -- in such a clumsy and blatant way that it makes it seem like it can't possibly be anything other than a red herring -- is weeks of clumsily and blatantly shining a spotlight on the actual killer. In short, it was underwhelming. The rest of the outing sorta made up for it, though, by showing V going into business with her parents -- given her insistence on not breaking any laws, she must be unaware of the concept of an accessory -- and Betty acting more than a little weird after the whole Black Hood resolution. And Jughead? He's pretty much establishing a pattern of stupid decisions, this time surrounding the shady lawyer, Penny. Like that one's not gonna come back and bite 'em all hard...
I actually enjoyed that episode, but I got really, really angry when I realized that Sheriff Keller managed to kill Svenson with one single shot. I was basically yelling at my screen "You fool! Don't kill him! It's not over that easily! Keep him alive to talk to him!"
Considering how the eyes didn't match apparently and how something's going on with Betty (or at least how she's doubting it) I think the Black Hood arc will continue. Unfortunately I'm kind of over it by now and I would've been happy if the arc had been resolved as mid season finale.
I barely see anyone talking about Betty's mysterious brother who got mentioned in the last season. I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be the Black Hood tbh. It would also explain why the Black Hood is so fixated on Betty. On the other hand it would be a fairly short appearance for him I guess because I doubt he won't go to jail. (Random thought about this - I wonder if he might turn out to be FP's son. The family tree would get even messier but I wouldn't be surprised at all.)
Side note - "Should have drowned them at birth like a basket full of kittens." The whole Blossom family is so special and I love every second of it.
ok but what the fuck is up with betty
How obvious can they be?! Ofc he wasn't the Black Hood. Sigh.
I still think there is more about that black hood reveal tbh. It was so... I don't know. Anticlimactic. Also, Bettys brother is showing up next episode.. This will be interesting. Also, not a fan of the whole love triangle thing. But then I remembered.. Oh, its CW. Of course they will do a love triangle.. Ugh. That AB kiss was weird.. Hopefully Betty and Jughead will work things out in the next episodes.. And omg, nana blossom is even more scary than I thought.. Talk about the most creepy family ever lmao. And Veronica's family.. Well, for sure there is something very suspicious in their whole business thing..
I don't think he's the real black hood, maybe he was threatened or something and really it's the pastor they buried alive whom actually survived (especially since with the janitor there's no explanation to the betty thing). At least I want to believe that, because if this was really the big revelation (and solution), it was one of the worst and least exciting I've ever seen... so underwhelming like sombody else said.
Is anyone else thinking Betty is black hood? She’s ever so mysterious!
I'm so conflicted. I'm not a fan of Archie and Betty being together but the show seems to have started pushing towards the whole love triangle. Man I had hoped they'd be more creative than "The Janitor did it" but what're you gonna do. Oh and I love the direction Jughead's character is heading. Overall excited for the season finale.
So the Janitor is the Black Hood after all. I did not see it cominng.

Just like the big reveal in the last season, this conclusion to the Black Hood storyline was pretty underwhelming. There was so much back and forth in speculation (Svenson as killer, to victim, to killer again), it just made for a pretty messy solution.
