That camera tilt at the end haha! This show had little moments of cringe in seasons 1 & 2 sure, but season 3 has taken that to a whole new level and it's getting ridiculous

How the hell am I supposed to take it serious at this point.

This season is terrible
Everyone gets obsessed with a board game, I laughed just by writing that

This episode was most definitely a drawn out filler episode that didn't need to be as long as it was. Alice's story telling quickly grew boring, and the acting from some (Madelaine, Camila) was not dissimilar enough from their regular roles to truly feel like they were playing their parent. The most convincing was KJ, who adopted Fred's character as well as anyone could. But what can I say? It's Riverdale, which no one truly watches for the acting, anyway.

And consider the plot hole that Sierra and Tom were involved romantically in highschool, yet everyone in Riverdale was immensely shocked by their affair seasons prior? Interesting.

Oh, and don't get me started on Betty's use of the word "triggered" within the first five minutes of the show. Eternal eyeroll.

The acting is already bad when they are playing their regular roles... playing their parents was definitely a new level of bad acting. I only liked FP because Cole is the only good actor there (almost the only reason I keep watching this show...).

This was so fun!!! Officially my favorite episode. I love all of the actors so much omg

The board game playing is believable in the 90’s flashbacks. In the present time scenes though ? No. Not when there’s cell phones and video games. When you think of it though the teens on this show are rarely even seen with cell phones.
I also wish they didn’t do the cliche Breakfast Club detention bonding. Even had Anthony Michael Hall as the principal.

I didn't really feel this episode. I honestly found it weird to have the usual actors play as their parents. I wouldn't even call it good acting tbh and just felt like most of them played dress-up. It was literally the first episode of Riverdale that made me so bored that I read comment sections about the episode before it was even halfway through.

Penelope's back story was the only thing that interested me - She grew up as Clifford's sister and then ended up marrying him? Seems like a typical Blossom mess. I really want to know more about it. And makes you wonder if Jason and Cheryl really were twins...

What era are they supposed to be in... It appeared to be a mix of the 80s and 90s with a little bit too much of the "normal" age. I applaud the effort though just too bad they missed the ball just a little.

The actor playing Archie really looked like a young Luke Perry in some of the angles though.

I give this show a lot of shit (and it's all deserved), but this was honestly a fun episode. That doesn't stop it from being stupid, but it was fun nonetheless.

The main issue is that Alice establishes it as being in the 90s, but then it's a very obvious Breakfast Club parody, which is about the most quintessential 80s thing imaginable. Then they have a Saved by the Bell intro parody for some reason, which would support the 90s-ness, but that doesn't match anything else going on. And the rest of the episode is way more 80s than it is 90s. It's a confused mishmash.

Mark Consuelos' son playing young Hiram was a nice touch.

They could've literally cancelled Riverdale and did a show with the cast playing the younger versions of the parents and I would've been totally down for it.

This season has been pretty cringe so far, but this episode was actually pretty good. The kids don’t really look like the parents, but they pull off the roles surprisingly well.

idc this episode was so fun to watch and everyone looked really hot. camp masterpiece!

Someone is trying to kill you using a game you are playing.

The logical solution? Destroy the game.

Really?!? How much does the writer of this story line hate Roleplaying Games? I mean there must be some serious hate going on there...

Since I already read that its not supernatural (what would be the only reasonable explanation) this isn't borderline stupid. Its just plain stupid.

"The game gives you permission..." who the fuck wrote this crap?
I played RPGs for decades. Didn't make me homicidal and I certainly wouldn't drink poison just because some GM told me to.

Over all this reminds me of the horror stories my parents told me about Dungeons and Dragons and how Demons would come when I played it.
They are mind-controlled cult-members - whats the writers excuse for this crap?

"As Mayor I'm officially banning..."
Since when does a mayor have the authority to ban literature?

Also: If you want to ban something: Ban the fucking cult in your backyard!

I loved this episode! It was cool and really fun to see the cast play their “parents” in this episode. It felt like an homage to all the 80s and 90s shows, must of them really looked like younger versions of the actors that play their parents.

Finally an episode with out moments that made me cringe or fast fwd through.

Really enjoyed this episode. Didn’t realize how much I needed to see the kids play the parents in an 80s themed episode. lol

I’m going to need this season to get better. Looks like we finally bout to get some answers. I swear this show would be much better if they took out the nonsense and the seasons were 13 to 15 episodes.

Does anyone else feel like that was the worst Breakfast Club/Mazes and Monsters movie mash up imaginable?

First the Spartacus story-line with Archie and now this...hopefully they pull this train back on the track before it derails...
