Special 6 The Grudge Matches

Special 6 The Grudge Matches

  • 1999-03-12T20:00:00Z1h

After the main competition of the Second Wars, a special episode gives robots the chance to settle old scores and also allows robots that did not feature in the main series a chance to battle in the arena.

Judgement Day - Two separate vengeance battles, both involving Mortis. It took on Cassius and later Napalm to settle a grudge in each of the first two wars.

Reserve Rumble - A one-off battle between five robots that were rejected from the main series.

Inferno Insurrection - An exhibition match where Nemesis and Stock Robot Ramrombit were sprayed with paraffin then set alight by Sergeant Bash.

Super Showdown - The final of the only Super Heavyweight Championship held in the history of Robot Wars.

Internet Insurrection - A melee contested by four teams with the belief that they had the best website.

The episode also featured highlights from the Featherweight, Lightweight, Middleweight and the other Super Heavyweight championship battles of the series.

A special episode featuring highlights of the second series of Robot Wars. Hosted by Craig Charles, it took a look at some of the best and worst moments of that series.

The episode features clips from all the Heats, Semi-Finals and the Grand Final of the series. Additionally, behind-the-scenes clips could be briefly seen sometimes during the segments featuring Craig Charles.

Back in the days when the internet was a little baby, and we had to make our own entertainment… we all watched a programme called Robot Wars. Full of clever people who made robots in their garages that smashed each other up for fun. In the arena keeping order were a team of angry robots called the House Robots. They were there to keep the peace or if they felt like it, smash, bash and crash the competitors on a whim.

But when the show finished, the House Robots went into retirement.

Shunned by their public, they never lost sight of the dream.

Over the years they have evolved, growing bigger, badder and much much more dangerous. Now they’re back and this time they’re really cross.

The presenters have also been rebooted, the competitors are ready to fight, and the new series of Robot Wars is back.
