The second LowRange show sees the boys embark on an adventure down in Victoria to discover the stuff that everybody else usually misses. Yep, say Victoria to camping and off-road nuts and they think 'High Country', and fair enough too because that great hunk of Australia is a fantastic destination for any bush lover

But there's so much more to find and in LowRange Ep2, from the mountains along the south coast to the salt lakes in the Malley country, you'll get to go along for the ride. Watch as Kenno discovers a whole new way to play at being shark bait, wonder as Gleno manages to do the whole trip in a Land Rover without a break down and be glad you don't have smell-a-vision as Roothy cooks up another storm.

Don't miss it. This one's the best ever - since LowRange number one anyway...

To say ‘home is where the heart is’ comes to the fore in this special installment of LowRange. The adventures continue and after the pristine sandy beaches of South-East Queensland and the magnificent unseen Victorian forests, this trip sees Roothy, Kent Hindley and Glen Hadden take on the spectacular Flinders Ranges in South Australia. They visit a very special place close to Roothy’s heart, the place where it all began… his childhood home.

Episode 3 has soul, it has feeling, a whole lot of laughs… and it’s a trip that the boys will never forget!

1x04 First Through The Finke

  • no air date1h 5m

The rain hits the outback!

Roothy hears of the beautiful outback in full bloom after huge rains and instantly rallies the troops to set off for the next installment of LowRange. And the goal... to be the First Through the Finke!

The boys head inland to Birdsville, via the Plenty Highway to The Alice and then towards the Finke River and it’s hot... real hot and Roothy, Gleno and Kenno quickly discover why inland touring during summer is not for the faint-hearted. When the sun finally sets, the heat somewhat diminishes and the flies abate their onslaught, a second host arrives from the starry sky’s to test their mettle. Crickets, and in plague proportions.

Episode 4 has some of the most spectacular scenery and 4WDing you will ever see, but

beware, it’s addictive and will leave you hanging out for more!

1x05 GHAN Give It Ya Best

  • no air date1h 5m

Ruins, rains & road closures.

With the last of the summer sun beating down on them Roothy, Gleno and Kenno brace for the heat once more to see a side of the Australian Outback often forgotten.

On this once in a lifetime trip the boys follow the historic Old Ghan Railway as it originally cut through the harsh and unforgiving desert. Although with fresh rain they’ll come face to face with a whole different challenge. Flooded plains, road closures and ruts the size of Milo are all just part of life in the desert after the rains. Although with a visit to the most isolated Pub in the world and a swim in an Outback Oasis along the way it’s worth battling the heat.

Episode 5 is LowRange in all its forms. There’s adventure, history, and amazing parts of Australia most others blast past, but most importantly real 4WDing that you’ll absolutely love!

1x06 Back Track Boogie

  • no air date1h 5m

Talk about sing a song of plenty!

When it comes to travelling this wonderful country, you’d have reckoned Roothy and the crew would have done it all.

Wrong, totally wrong and this show proves the point yet again. There are so many incredible places that a bit of backroad adventuring and a carefree attitude can access - as long as you’ve got low range!

So once again the boys set out to find all the good stuff lurking off the highways. There’s tracks a plenty here, from opening up an old coach road into a Goodnight Scrub to clambering through the back of a farm on a gazetted track that the world must have forgotten. Come with them and discover the magic of Kroombit Tops, scene of a long lost bomber crash from WW2. Go for a ride in a Vietnam era army duck and push through a track to one of the prettiest beach camps on the east coast.

Once again Gleno’s low flying his Roo powered Disco, Kenno’s doing the impossible with an MDC in tow and Roothy’s still squeezing miles out of his long suffering Milo. Episode 6 is all about getting out there and exploring the country we so often drive straight past. Come and live the dream, in LowRange!

Starting out under the old Tree of Knowledge in Barcaldine certainly didn’t add any brilliance to the boys’ ability to get well and truly backtracked in this incredible ‘off-road trip’ through Outback Queensland and deep into the Northern Territory. Once again Roothy’s big thing was to try the back road he’s always figured might lead somewhere and stop in at all the places they’d usually drive past.

So no pie shops or pubs for a while but Glen Hadden was happy anyway because he finally got to the Qantas museum in Longreach instead! Somehow they managed to get out of there without bolting a Rolls Royce turbine to the back of Kent Hindley’s ute and before long they were lost up a mining road that wasn’t on the map.

There’s more of everything you’ve come to love from the LowRange crew in this show including Gleno’s new 79 Series dual cab, the truck we’ve all been waiting for. If you love adventure, if you love exploring this wonderful country then you’re going to love LowRange. Come along for the ride!

1x08 Weight for it!

Lorella Springs, a million acres or more of the Territory’s finest unexplored wilderness running down to 27 kilometres of coastline. People have tried to forge new tracks to the coast before but short of a bulldozer nobody’s ever made it. However that’s not going to stop Roothy, Gleno and Kenno having a go so armed with some satellite images and local knowledge our intrepid team sets off on the adventure of a lifetime.
You’ll see parts of Australia never seen before - but you’ll also see danger up front! This time things almost get totally out of hand when the bush bites back as only our wild Australia can. LowRange - and loving it!

This year Roothy celebrated 40 years of Cape York adventuring by – you got it, pointing Milo north to find some fresh tracks.

With his LowRange mates Glen ‘Hasbeen’ Hadden and Kent Hindley, Roothy found that no matter how well you know the Cape, there’s always plenty a bloke hasn’t seen. This is a place so vast people go there to get lost, a wild place where you can bathe in a river in the morning and get your truck swept away that night.

Yep, the Cape is still the best adventure on earth! Get ready to discover a whole lot of fresh Capers in this incredibly weird and wonderful journey. Oh, and you can’t go past a cappuccino and a pie from ‘Cafe Gleno d’79 Wheels’...

Our intrepid LowRange team sets out to find a lost track out the back of Bramwell Station that should follow the crocodile infested Olive River out to the coast. Will they make it through or will the bush win out?

After plenty of adventures Roothy and the lads make it back to Bramwell for a relax before heading north again to the rarely visited Mutee Heads in search of relics from World War II. Along the way they discover the real history of Cape York north of the Jardine before heading to the very tip itself.

Gleno has a birthday party and Kenno chases crocs with unusual results for both. Yep, once again LowRange opens up a whole new world to anyone who loves adventure and having fun along the way. Nobody does it better!

So what does it take to make a country as huge as Australia - loaded with brilliant scenery and some of the longest roads in the world between it all - look as it is?

It’s a huge responsibility and one the whole crew of LowRange was completely immersed in for over a year. Here, in Episode 11, we look back at not just some of the incredible places we explored but also at the way we built the program around the country itself. Learn for the first time what’s involved in a production as grand as LowRange - and also enjoy more than a few laughs at the bungles along the way! Yep, there’s plenty of stuff featuring not just Roothy, Glen and Kenno here but the rest of the road crew as well.

If you enjoyed Season 1 of LowRange you’re going to really enjoy this special episode. Talk about all the fun and none of the responsibility….

LowRange, maybe not as big as Australia, but sure trying hard to cover it!
