Riona discovers the truth about O'Dowd ...... finally. She contacts the Garda but when they come to arrest O'Dowd he escapes. Conall decides to leave Ros to travel the world for a year. Nothing much happening with the rest of the charactors.
The villagers are shocked to learn that dangerous criminal O’Dowd is alive and well and that he has escaped the Gardaí once more! The gossip mills run into overdrive with everyone questioning if Ríona, O’Dowd’s wife, was involved in her husbands’ dodgy dealings! Will Sergeant Úna be able to track down murderer O’Dowd and put him behind bars once and for all?
Vince is feeling extremely guilty that his daughter Ríona faces raising her unborn child alone. Vince can’t bear that the local gossips are having a field day and causes a scene when he chastises his former friends for speculating about his innocent daughter when it’s criminal O’Dowd who is at fault! When Tadhg can’t resist making underhand comments about Ríona, Vince sees red and attacks him! Will Vince crack under the pressure?
Caomhán reveals to Mo that he came to Ros na Rún to discover his family history! Caomhán explains that there was a family falling out and that his grandmother was Peadar’s father’s first wife! Peadar has no idea that he has a half-brother and Caomhán is conflicted between his desire to get to know his family and loyalty to his father! Will Caomhán listen to Mo’s advice and stay in the village or will he respect his father’s wishes to leave the past buried?
Caitríona is devastated to learn that Vince has started divorce proceedings against her and that a reconciliation is most definitely not on the cards! Caitríona pleads with Vince to reconsider but Vince is adamant he can never forgive her affair with his son Donncha. Caitríona is heartbroken but her hurt soon turns to anger and she moves back into the De Burca house in protest! How will Vince cope with his ex-wife Caitríona under his feet?
Mo talks Róise into letting Caomhán stay with them until he can find somewhere to rent. Mo is thrilled to have Caomhán so close by but her happiness soon fades when she realises Róise could be a rival for Caomhán’s affections! Has Mo ruined her chances with Caomhán by introducing him to man-eater Róise?
Mack is horrified when John Joe drags him along to a speed dating night! Mack feels that he’s not cut out for the fast pace dating game and John Joe’s luck seems to be no better! However, John Joe thinks all his Christmases have come at once when he hits it off with Mrs. Robinson, an attractive married woman! Will John Joe feels so enthusiastic when he realises he’ll be sharing his evening with Mrs. Robinson, her husband and HIS date?
Caitríona sees red when Vince and Róise wind her up by flouting her carefully thought out house rota! Caitríona gets her own back on Róise by giving her an official letter telling her to keep away from the house or else she’ll take out a barring order to protect herself against Róise’s abusive behaviour! Will Róise keep the peace for her dad Vince’s sake or are the De Burca family in for more hassle with the Gardaí?
Tadhg and Séamus take the law into their own hands when they discover crooked Billy is out of Garda custody! Tadhg is convinced that Billy knows where his murderous cousin O’Dowd is and threatens Billy with a kitchen knife! Séamus worries they have gone too far but the more he protests, the angrier Tadhg gets! Will the Gardaí have another murder investigation on their hands once Tadhg is through with Billy?
Caomhán’s father Éamon and his sister Bríd arrive in the village to try and talk Caomhán into coming back home to Dublin! Éamon is horrified to learn his son is living in Ros na Rún after seeing the photograph of Caomhán at the Rico’s crime scene in the local paper! Will Caomhán respect Éamon’s wishes and leave his new life in Ros na Rún or will he stand up to his powerful, rich and self-made father?
Éamon gets on like a house on fire with Máire and Peadar, but Éamon has no idea the owner of the local B & B is in fact his younger half brother! Éamon’s son Caomhán knows the truth, but will he reveal it or will Éamon discover the family connection for himself?
Caitríona begins to worry that she won’t get a satisfactory settlement in her divorce from Vince and sets about portraying herself as a helpless victim! She orchestrates a row with her stepdaughter Róise in Radio Pobal and breaks down in tears claiming she feels bullied at work! Will Caitríona manage to keep up her charade long enough to convince a divorce judge that she’s a helpless victim in need of financial support from Vince?
Tadhg agrees to give Lee a job behind the bar so he can spend more time with Frances, but Lee is looking for more than a job! Lee tells Frances she’ll be moving in, since all Tadhg’s employees get free accommodation! Frances gives Lee the go ahead to move her things from her aunt Berni’s house, telling Lee she’ll need to check with Tadhg first. How will Tadhg react when he realises his new employee has pulled one over on him?
Máire and Peadar are baffled by Éamon’s claims that he is Peadar’s older half-brother! Peadar is determined not to get involved, but he sees red when Éamon confronts him in the street in front of the other villagers! Peadar refuses to entertain Éamon and storms off making Éamon all the more determined to show everyone that Peadar is slighting his own flesh and blood! What will headstrong Éamon do to make Peadar acknowledge him?
Máire and Sarah worry that Caomhán, Bríd and Éamon are claiming to be Peadar’s long lost relatives in order to scam money from them! They’re even more worried when Peadar reveals he gave Caomhán the sack! Sarah speculates that Caomhán could take them to the cleaners if he decides to pursue an unfair dismissals case against the shop because Peadar sacked him for personal reasons!
Tadhg gets an attack of the green eyed monster when Mícheál impresses Frances with his thoughtful nature! Mícheál decides to raise funds to build a memorial bench for Anne Marie. Tadhg pledges support to the fundraiser but secretly the jealous publican is seething that Mícheál has outdone him in Frances’s eyes! Will Tadhg’s jealousy of Mícheál’s good relationship with Frances lead him to revert back to his old devious ways?
Máire is struggling to decide whether or not to show Peadar the letter written by Éamon’s mother, which Caomhán claims will prove his father really is Peadar’s half-brother! However, when Máire suggests that Éamon may be telling the truth about being related, Peadar is furious and refuses to discuss the matter! Máire then decides to keep the letter a secret! What will Caomhán do now his plan to heal the rift between the two families has failed?
The villagers gather at the Féile for a fun day out. However, the atmosphere soon turns sour when the Ó Conghaile and De Faoite families meet! Despite Éamon’s protestations that he doesn’t want to cause any trouble, tensions soon come to a head in the tug-of-war competition! Will Éamon put his dispute with his estranged half-brother Peadar aside when they face off in the tug-of-war or will the Féile be ruined because of the family feud?
Peadar is down in the dumps so his wife Máire takes matters into her own hands by organising a secret meeting with Éamon. Éamon thinks he’s finally getting the recognition he wants as Peadar’s brother and opens up to Máire about being denied his right to his family name and his inheritance. Will Máire be able to help heal the rift between her husband and his half-brother Éamon or will she think Éamon has only returned to Ros na Rún looking for money?
