Sometimes I hate how the CW shows romance. This is a horrible influence. Like candy and popcorn and pizza bad. Junk food romance.

Max and Liz are suddenly so open with their feelings it's disconcerting. All that stuff about belonging together & why did they wait. Idk, it just felt so blatantly unrealistic to me that it took me out of the show and put me off.

Other than that, I agree with @anthoney, the moving parts were more complex and better handled.

  • liked the overall road trip feeling of the first half of the ep
  • alex, jenna and kyle investigating. i like how writers made jenna go team up with alex
  • even if it has been 6 weeks since they put isobel in "rehab" it was still weird how openly both liz and max talked about their feelings
  • so maria and michael. there been tension between them the past episodes, and i didn't see it as sexual tension. but michael was just "dumped" (i guess?) by alex and maria is of course very sad about her mom losing her memories. so they both drunk and sad and looking for some distraction
  • died laughing when liz and max were kissing and it cut to noah staring at them from the distance
  • finally michael and alex talked more properly. and they really just had to put some more drama in to it when michael pulled out maria's necklace
