1x12 The Wormwood Prophecy

I'll limit myself to one compliment and one bash this week since the bashes would once again take a long, long time to cover if I didn't limit myself to one. The good: a nice twist there with the president not being dead. At the same time, however, there are all sorts of problems with how it was supposedly done, including the fact that few people would go along with the closed casket bit without at least asking a lot of questions and raising questions and doubts in the minds of our heroes. The bad: apparently the writers think that there is only one printed version of the King James Bible out there since that's the only way that our intrepid reporter could have broken the book cipher. In reality, there are many printed versions with different font sizes and page numbers and on and on, so Amanda would have needed a lot more info than just "Lincoln's copy." And given that the writers explained how a book cipher actually works, this is an especially lazy and stupid mistake. And that's ignoring the problems with encoding it in the first place. After all, the president was writing the thing on the day that she was planning to deliver it, so why not just write it out without the code nonsense and keep the pages on her person for the duration of the day instead of encoding and then decoding it in the space of a few hours, at most?
