Karen Gillan and John Cho's performance were great. They have such a good chemistry on screen. All the more, it's a shame that they cancelled that show after only one season. Probably the main reason for its downfall was the really bad name.
The start of this comedy show was rather way over the top with its female main character Eliza and almost forced popculuture references everywhere.
But it changed somewhere along the lines of episode 3, toning down without losing its premise when most people probably were already gone watching other shows.
It's a shame. This comedy is comparably focused on its main characters and isn't wasting time on unnecessary sideplots like the big comedy shows do nowadays to give every character a certain amount of screentime.
This show focuses on the two main characters Eliza and Henry and that is good. The chemistry between those two (actors) is great and becomes better and better as the story goes on.
Of course even this comedy show has the typical roles like wacky characters, flaws, "obvious" plots (main characters growing attached to each other) and doesn't reinvent the wheel. When it started I didn't have any high hopes either, thinking I am droppping it when it goes down the road it lay down in episode 1 but despite that it grew pretty much on me.
It's a solid, feel good type of comedy show with a rather realistic, modern approach to it. Quality wise I'd put it somehwere near You're The Worst, although the latter is darker and more cynical in its humour.
As I said, a shame that this show got cancelled so early on.
It's one of those cases where a smaller network would most likely keep it running. No doubt there.
oh my oh my.... Totally useless with no plot at all. Total time waster...
The idea is good and I love the cast! But the character Eliza is not written out well....she is slut-shamed, told she is unprofessional yet she is a top seller/rep of the company and given very basic life lessons on things she should have learned already....it's ok for women to party and to enjoy sex but it seems this show is saying it's not ok. Eliza and Henry do seem to balance each other out, but it would have been better to see Eliza as a stronger character in how she is that maybe needs to be more relatable to others like coworkers and such. I think they overdid the self-obsession to a point that her success doesn't match how her character and script is written out. It reminds me a bit of issues with 90s movies along similar lines but with modern social media thrown in....like I said - it had a good concept and good cast but wasn't written out well.
just found out it was cancelled. darn.
Odio que ABC cancelará SELFIE.
2x08 is on Hulu (also ABC.com and Hulu Plus, I believe.) A new episode is set to premiere each week on those sites.
Shame on you guys for deleting it! This was good!
Too bad it got canceled.
'Selfie' canceled by ABC: http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/11/07/selfie-canceled/?hootPostID=bcc66a6e08aecea70fed5f1468dbe8bd
This show reads like an old person complaining about the "damn young people today". It is either complaining about social media while missing the point of it, or indulging in what looks like youth culture filtered through a committee of old tv execs. It tries to have it both ways, and fails in all directions.
At first i was skeptical, but now this series is starting to grow on me.
Zeer grappig en actueel. Originele serie. Hopen op goed vervolg.
