Servant: Season 2

2x06 Espresso

I’m still trying to piece this together but failing miserably. Here’s what I’ve got:

They (the cult members) are angels. They were once living but after death come back to do God’s will. Leanne, like her Uncle and the other cult members, is an angel. She died (we saw her grave) but at some point after she came back she decided of her own accord to come to Dorothy and Sean, to restore Jericho to them, which wasn’t her mission. The baby she brought to them really was Jericho, returned from the dead just like her, her uncle, the other cult members, etc (the angels). The cult has taken Jericho because he’s supposed to be with them, his kind. Dorothy is sinning in that she keeps trying to interfere with the angels’ work and therefore (in their view) keeps meddling with God’s plan.

Such a superb actingfrom Boris McGiver, as it elevates the plot to new heights. Hooked!

They're like... ghosts ? Or at least that's what they think they are? Died, but got a second chance. Great.

@danturner that’s a brilliant summary of what we know so far. The mystery remains in terms of Leanne’s motives at this point - we know she has been obsessed with Dorothy since she met her while she was reporting on Leanne’s cult’s mass suicide many years ago. But getting to know the real Dorothy has proved to be complicated for Leanne. She’s angry that the real woman and the news reporter are quite different from one another. Leanne wasn’t expecting the superficial mask Dorothy wears on screen, it’s blowing up her childish and very naive dream of being part of Dorothy’s family (which is why I think she resurrected Jericho and brought him back to his parents in the first place). She lashes out (the splinters, Sean’s loss of taste). In this episode and the one preceding it, her new notion of Dorothy as a weak and pathetic woman is proven to be another childish assumption. This is getting genuinely terrifying and I’m loving it!

Ok, so now that we know “what” they are, can we please tell Dorothy?
