Same as everyone, I'm hate watching it at this point, but objectively this was one hell of a bad episode.
I'm not sure why I keep watching a couple of episodes every season only to ditch the rest of it all... but I have to admit, despite me quickly loosing interest, this show's got a quality to it.
It seems I'm in the minority, here. For me, this season started with a bang! Getting the cult to double down on a lonely Leanne was quite intense and I almost thought that would be the end, for her. But she's getting stronger by the season. In the previous season, I thought it would be Leanne who would meet a ghastly demise by the series finale, but now I'm wondering if it'll be Dorothy, as she's already debilitated and Leanne is growing stronger. Though it's also likely it will be everyone, since the house seems to be literally collapsing at any minute, now (swallowed by Hell, maybe, if we go with the series' religious undertone?).
I can't possibly understand why others keep watching this show if they're not enjoying it and all they do is come here to b*tch about it. Go watch something else, instead? Maybe there is, after all, something in Servant that, unknowingly to them, keeps pulling everyone back in, despite all the hate? As I've mentioned before, people have become too obsessed with the big "why" (a common modern symptom of having tons of series to watch and a short attention span), whereas i am definitely enjoying the mysterious journey there. The show never lost its creepiness, something that's not easy to keep up after three seasons. Last season was definitely a slow burner, but they already ramped things up in this one. Let's see how the remaining episodes play out.
I, for one, am now really excited to see how this will all wrap up in the end!
This was a good way to start this season
After sitting through all of the unintentional joke known as season three, I was sorely tempted to bail on this thing despite it being close to the end. But I decided to come back, hoping that SOMEONE in the Apple food chain would recognize and fix the mess. Well, no such luck. This was just more of the same -- about two minutes of plot development and 20-some minutes of someone seemingly trying WAY too hard to impress a former film class instructor, or something. It's almost a parody of itself at this point with its overwrought nonsense, and I'm done. I simply don't care what happens to any of these people anymore. I just don't. Blow up the brownstone and kill 'em all? Fine by me. An 11th hour conversion to sanity and a happy-ever-after ending? Whatever. Go for it. I simply don't care. I may check out a season summary after the fact to see what happened, but at this moment I don't even see THAT happening. If nothing else, maybe this thing will serve as an object lesson on how NOT to do a TV show. As for me, I'm finally done wasting my time hoping for something that's VERY unlikely to happen...
I really hope we get some answers this season… and not just at the end. I’m so over the mystique and everything being so damn cryptic. This show had our minds stirring for three seasons. Now it’s time for a whole lotta payoff. The fact the the family doesn’t ask Leanne concrete questions about all that’s going on is supremely frustrating.
And I don’t have it in me right now to point out all the things that felt nonsensical about that standoff in the middle of the street in a major city in broad daylight.
Make it all make sense. Please.
