So one of the companies many manipulations to control and segregate departments is having there be rumours about the violence committed when they were allowed to integrate. Very dark, very smart.

Also I liked that Dylan's objection to Irving being sweet on Burt was purely his dept and nothing else. Just as it should be

Amazing. This secret workplace world has its own religion, customs, oral history, culture, nations, bigotries, and media*. And in amongst all that, a twee self help book could help spark a revolution. But why was that book never missed by the otherwise meticulous Melchik?

At some point they're going to have to stop winding deeper into mysteries, but for now, I'm loving the journey.

*And goats.

This episode was confusing af. And not in an enjoyable way.

Becoming more confusing with every episode and more enjoyable. The cast is really strong and makes the incongruences work. And of course there is Christopher Walken!

I still have no idea where they are going with this. I wish they'd go just a bit faster

84 | The writers' decision to make Milchick forget about Ricken's book was risky writing. It made Milchick seem unprofessional at his job and made him less terrifying. But that was probably the only way to make the characters in MDR developed to notice something suspicious about the office where they work. Since Aoife McArdle direct the episode, Severance started to reveal answers piece by piece. The new fact that the characters had made us more believe in the rumor around the Lumon company. In the next episode, there is a possibility a bigger conflict would happen.

This show is blowing my mind :exploding_head:

I enjoy this mystery and the character interaction and don't mind that it's a slow burner as the mystery is becoming secondary for me. I am a little disappointed in the ricken character as he is too weird for my liking for an outsider.

I am not sure why but it reminds me a little of the original Le Femme Nikita and The Prisoner.

Nice to have something more unique on TV. Hope it doesn't go up its own backside and outlive itself.

p.s. I'm calling it now - ms cobal left the book behind :monkey:

Best episode so far IMO. I've definitely enjoyed each one so far, but as we get a little more away from the forced (though very effective) sterility, things seem to open up, and that's been compelling.

Breaking out some more interaction between characters hardly hurts, and the presentation of Ricken's book somehow with a touch of both cynicism and innocence lends some nice humour.

What do these people do in the company? I guess it mimics real life at work bc half the time I don’t know what my work does and how I contribute. I just keep processing macro data.

Something about the structure of this episode seemed... off. And not in an intentional way.

The biggest mystery of the show is why Mark's sister, a very normal-seeming person, would ever marry a big weirdo like Ricken.
