The Connolly are packing up for a road trip to find their dad. They'll follow the photographs he was looking at the night he left, in hopes of tracking down the reasons behind their dad's mysterious disappearance.
Their first stop on a road trip is the baseball field where Jason pitched his first no-hitter. Lexi and Zak continue to fight, and Sam calls the family out on the fact that they haven't really been acting like a family lately.
Their next stop is the campground where the family used to go every summer, and where Keith and Jason reconnect with their summer flames Anna and Rachel.
Not wanting to give up their search, the Connolly's final stop of the road trip is an amusement park they used to visit as kids. Everyone is at a breaking point desperate to find their dad.
The Connolly family gets back from their road trip to discover they're being evicted. As they pack up their house Meg's musical hallucinations kick in, as the family still holds out hope of finding their Dad.
Despite the opportunity to remain in their house for the short term, the Connollys decide they'd prefer to move out sooner rather than later given the inevitability of the situation. Zak getting ready for a date prompts Lexi to finally reveal her true feelings to him.
The Connollys prepare for the arrival of their moving truck. Upon nightfall, with everything packed in boxes, they camp out in the living room and fondly reminisce about the past. News about their father arrives at the door; however, it's very different than what everyone was expecting.
