The book isn't really a big surprise nor does it help a lot. We already know there was a time before the Silo when things were different. The question is what happened to make them go in there and what is outside now.
The big reveal was right at the end as there is someone monitoring everything that happens inside the Silo. And I don't think it's Judicial. They might nor even know about it. But someone has to know. Maybe Holland ?
Could the Silo be some kind of experiment ? You know, the kind we do today where we put people in isolation to see how they would fare on long space travel. It's still damn near impossible to pinpoint a time for the events. All we know that the Silo is up for 140 years minimum. Which would be a hell lot of time for an experiment. And the tech inside the Silo, which was surely up to date back then, looks really old now. And who might the mysterious "Him" turn out to be? Got to be a new player in the game.
Well, at least things are progressing.
Interesting development. Seems lot like “The Arq” spaceship.
Also anyone notice different measure of time? That 140 years may not be the solar years.
Book that was given to George by his mother previously owned by his Aunt who apparently got it before Silo was built what could be as well in 1960s.
I don't care about if someone was having affairs, blah, blah, blah. There's too much 'drama'. I want to know more about the silo history. Why hasn't the sheriff explored again? What's the big pool of water from a few episodes doing there?
I'm not suprised people are being spied on. I am suprised the sheriff isn't thinking something like that happens after the old woman was always suspicious of being spied on.
MODERATION EDIT
SPOILER WARNING: This contains spoilers for future episodes.
It is the IT Departement :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
The Earth in Silo Series is poisoned with nanobots that have a detrimental effect on the human body.
50 Silos were built, and since each Silo can house up to 10 000 people, we can assume that 500,000 people are ready to “restart” the civilization. Only out of those 500,000 people, the majority is “scheduled” to die.
The immediate area outside of Silo is still toxic because nanobots are being pumped into the air to maintain the illusion of toxicity. Plenty of other areas on Earth are clear of danger, and it’s possible to survive without any protective gear whatsoever.
It was never the plan to let all 50 Silos survive. Only one Silo that performed the best in terms of intelligence, health, obedience, and other aspects was supposed to “survive.” All other Silos would eventually be destroyed, leaving only “the perfect specimens” to restart the civilization.
This was the role of the I.T. department. They are keeping tabs on all Silos and collecting population data. The Silo that performs the best gets to live. All other Silos were supposed to be annihilated. And this is why the illusion of danger and toxicity needs to be maintained at all times since not everyone is supposed to survive the apocalypse.
At the End Juliette will be sent to clean, Walker from the mechanical ensured that her protective suit wouldn’t be tampered with and the heat tape used for the suit would be legitimate. Her suit, therefore, didn’t have the leak, and she managed to survive long enough to reach Silo 17, and this is kind of the beginning of the end for the whole Silo project in general.
Maaan! Walk is the voice of reason really! Now, with that last seen I'm starting to think we walking in the matrix! All damn thing is an experiment!
i had a feeling they got some dark knight surveillance shiit ..
but i have an idea where this is going , lets see if I'm right..

Not as great as the last episode but still digging this. Love the complexity of the characters and the new things about some of them coming to light. Each episode seems to up the intrigue and mystery and I fear we’re getting more questions than they may be able to answer by the end, but I’m here for it. And now that we know a season 2 is coming I’m less concerned about that but still hope things are able to wrap up nicely by the end of this season.
