This already seems predictable and likely to devolve into a CW-style drama. Clearly there will come a point where love overcomes her predatory nature while in mermaid form.
Dreadful acting, predictable story, I wish they all drowned.
watched 5 episodes so far and tbh I'm liking it as a fan of such stories. it clearly doesn't have much budget but that doesn't mean it's bad or something. the CGI isn't really that good, some of the actors are horrible. however the leading lady is awesome. watch without high expectations and you'll like it.
Holly fuck they canceled it. I googled the show looking for s04 news. Iknow the show was not the best but it has a special set of characters (mermaids were astonishing)
The biggest problem with this show is the actors. Unfortunately a lot of them just really can't act. Among these people, Alex Roe (Ben Pownall) is the most annoying, just because you see him so much.
The writing okay, but it has weird moments. Sometimes the dialogue is a bit weird. Or the plot gets resolved a bit too abruptly or conveniently. Weirdest thing I've seen so far was the finale of the first season. It just had no real cliff hanger like the end of a season tends to have, to make you excited for the next season. Man, it did not even the minor kind of cliffhanger you normally have at the end of an episode. Nor did it feel like it was intended to be the end of the show. It was so bizarre.
Their more unique take on mermaids is refreshing though. Its a bit more dark and horror-ish. Kind of like they where on "Pirates of the Caribbean: stranger tides", but without there being one particular mermaid that's very different from the rest (like ridiculously good and innocent). Here the character of all the mermaids is a bit more consistent.
Overall, this show is definitely not something mind blowing. But its entertaining enough for me to keep watching it. Unfortunately there are very few mermaids shows/movies out there, so this one automatically goes in the top 3 for me.
I love this show, I am so addicted to it. Can not wait for season 2 episode 9.
Had never heard of this show until my husband recommended it to me. I LOVE that it stays along the mythological side of the siren rather than a new age Disney idea. Needless to say I’m hooked!
A more original twist on the mermaid theme. It's refreshing. So far so good and hopefully it stays that way.
People in this comment section seemed so critical towards this show. Nothing about this show is predictable and it makes you wanting more and you can’t stop watching! If you love mermaids I highly recommend it. Also Ryn is a very funny character whilst learning about life on land. “Ben is love, Maddie is love.” ♡
After finishing season 1 of you're the worst series yesterday, i am here. It was fun to watch it, now time for mystery and action :)
I watch series season by season. So, i will watch one season and then i will move to another series.
I chose that series because I am interested in mythology. Siren and song of the siren is close things for me. In Dota game, there is naga siren character also; its ulti is song of siren :)
I usually does not watch so recently series but here i am.
I hope i can enjoy.
I will copy this to season 1 review also. I will add here after i finished some seasons i hope.
for me i couldn't continue watching it after the threesome , disgusting... its like they are having it with a fish like WTH!
It’s an ok show, something different. Well done considering the theme.
Ultimately, I like the message it portrays about the damage to the world’s oceans and species.
So sex centered... I expected something original, horror or thriller, and all I got is a 3some, with bestiality... (since one of them is a mermaid...) Idk what to say...
Show about discovering the mystery mermaids. Very dependent on context, dialog and character development so watching in order is important. Several relating stories play out at the same time. Supportive of females strengths and not often at males expense (edgy but not offensive). Strong points are Ren is rather sexy, slightly unique take on mermaids and pretty good acting. On the weak side is that it seems predictable, drama centralized and is anticlimactic.
Love the “New” shows coming out, and this 1 is perfect, with maybe a touch of fiction mixed with the big bad secret agencies run by the government.
Love it!!!

Siren is a show that I started watching because mermaids are one of my childhood obsessions, so I wanted to revisit that period. I have watched all episodes that are out, so far. I highly recommend it.
