[7.0/10] It’s nice to get an episode of South Park that is less tied to a social or political issue, and feels more like a classic episode where they’re just telling a story for the sake of telling a story. Sure, there’s some topicality with the arrival of e-scooters, and a little social commentary in how poor people like Kenny are excluded from a lot of technical innovation that changes how things used to be. But for the most part, “The Scoots” is just a fun Halloween story with a decidedly South Park shell around it.
I like both sides of the episode. The bit about the kids all planning to use e-scooters, to the exclusion of Kenny, is enjoyable in that wistful, kid sort of way. I also like Mr. Mackey as the focal point for the scooter opposition, thinking people should just drive cars and lead the one man crusade. And the terror and panic when the two collide, with people zooming around in a blur to grab candy and terrified families shelling out candy bars and worrying about supply, was exquisite. I also enjoyed how Kenny and Mackey came together to find a solution -- knocking down the cell tower -- replete with a very enjoyable Friday the 13th gag about Mackey being a counselor.
Come to think of it, there may be some extra social commentary here on the techbro “move fast and break stuff” ethos, but on the whole, this one is more focused on turning scooters into a horror story in enjoyable fashion, and that definitely worked.
the consistency at which South Park had been delivering is mind blowing!! I just hope they keep doing what they're doing even in these tough time just hold on to something during the shit Strom and get out stronger than ever before!
You will also be able to eat peanut butter sandwich and Kelly cream blue haze nuts (+_+)

As an adult, I can confirm that the scariest part of Halloween is running out of candy.
