This season was... well... ok. John Malkovich is something apart, he makes a great duo among Steve Carell!
And they have potential.
New arcs should be presented in the next season, with Mark's new girlfriend, Maggie and Louise, the Secretary of Defense giving dumb and absurd orders (is that a Trump's doppelganger?) and a new relationship between Dr. Chan and Angela. I think those arcs will consume much more screen time and provide great stories as well.
And it's great to see little references to "The Office" too! Sometimes I can perceive some joke-references and other traits such as the long pauses, the awkward silence and nonsense astrophysical jokes.
