At the exit of the Shiga Central Prison located by the banks of Lake Biwa, stands a lone man who had just been released from the prison. He is none other than Takuma Yoshito, a man who had been convicted of a crime he didn't commit. 10 years ago, Takuma was trialed and found guilty of rape and attempted murder and was sentenced to 15 years jail. However, 10 years into his sentence, the victim woke up from her coma and was able to confirm that her attacker wasn't Takuma. So, Takuma has been exonerated from the crime and is now a free man. Takuma is actually a topnotch criminal profiler called specialists in Japan, and at the time of his arrest, he was attached to the Kyoto Prefectural Police. Takakura Kiichiro, the deputy of the Kyoto Prefectural Police, comes to greet Takuma to inform him of his reinstatement to the Special Investigations Task Force.
Someone has been going round sticking alphabets and numbers on the intersections in streets of Kyoto. Each time a sticker is discovered, soon a crime will take place at the intersection on which it was stuck. Yoshito and Chinami, together with the special task force, have to find out the significance of the stickers in order to prevent the next crime from happening!
Kubota Shu is killed by someone with a baseball bat. A metal bat and an old toy are found at the crime scene.
Detective Yoshito (Kusanagi) with the special investigation unit goes to the crime scene to investigate. There, Detective Yoshito realizes that he made the old toy about 10 years ago when he worked at the public relations divsion of the Kyoto Prefectural Police Department. Detective Yoshito decides to solve the case by himself and without the help of his partner Detective Chinami (Minami).
Yoshito (Kusanagi) becomes famous in Kyoto because of his ability to solve cases. The special investigation unit receives a request to investigate. The case revolves around the kidnapping of a costumed performer. His plays a non-official character of the Arashiyama area, located on the western outskirts of Kyoto. Nobody takes the kidnapping case seriously, but Yoshito says the case could be real and it might be related to a crowdfunding site.
