This came out of the dark for me I had no Idea this was in production. And I'm a Star Trek Fan.
The positives: the quality of the sets, costumes and even the CGI is pretty good. Overall this looks very professional and it feels right. The script of the first episode was good, too.
The only negativ I have so far is the cast. I've seen other fan made Star Trek productions so it's not the fact that these aren't the original actors. I just feel they made the characters appear very two dimensional. But since is only the first episode maybe they will grow after all it's pretty tough to fill these shoes.
So, I hope there will be more 'cause as a Star Trek fan in the past it was like being an addict without a suply. Therefore it's always nice to see new Trek.
Supplement Sep 9, 2016:
This show has become absolutely fantastic, more than I´d ever hoped for. It feels totally Trek with the music, sound effects, the sets and costumes. And I have to change my early assessment of the actors - they really bring this characters back to life. The scripts have depth and are meaningful. For me this is as much part of the Star Trek universe as are the official shows. I´m always eager to see what the next episode will bring and I hope they will do a lot more.
This is an amazing and very worthy continuation of Star Trek TOS. Its hard to believe this is a fan production. Its 100% feels like real TOS. The performances by the actors and actresses are stellar, after the first episode I forgot that they were not the original actors. I was particularly impressed by Vic and the actor playing Spock. But I would be remiss not to mention all of the cast including guest stars in each episode. Every aspect of this production was professional and did not feel even a tiny bit amateur as you would expect and accept in a fan production.
I was sad to finish the series, but glad for the privilege.
This is the first time I actually watched a fan-made Star Trek show (or any for that matter) and I fear I might have started with the absolute best. The production and visualisation of this show is absolutely incredible. It looks and feels like the original show from the grain, colors, the set and even (most of) the actors.
This was clearly a project made by people who love and respect the franchise and it's sad that they weren't "allowed" to make more. I've become a fan of these people and what they have achieved and created. In searching for more I discoverd some drama that happened with Shatner which saddens me a bit but I guess that's my own fault for looking into these things and thinking people can get along.
I can recommend this to anyone, both Trekkie/Trekker or regular peeps. If only all fanmade projects were of this quality, love and detail.
If only these large corporations didn't stifle the efforts of fans across the world with their copyright and IP restrictions but embraced them by working along. This show should be acknowledged by them, this should even be made canon.
I saw 2 episodes so far and I think it's really impressive: it seems the creators had access to the old sets and decided to use them to create their own stories.
I am also impressed by the actors. Watching Vic Mognogna, in certain angles, remind me of the original Kirk, thanks to the acting.
When the crew is seen from afar, it's like seeing the original actors\actress.
Also, the style of acting is the same from the original series, like the shooting of the scenes. The crew knows what they are doing.
I also think it's great they had the original Apollo actor in the first episode.
BEST episode of Star Trek Continues... WOW...
I always look forward to seeing a new episode!

This is a masterpiece. It's like new episodes of the original Star Trek. The sets, lighting, and camera work are all like the original. The actors have a tougher job, but I'm starting to really like the cast members in their own right.
Please watch TOS "Mirror, Mirror" and then Star Trek Continues "Fairest of Them All" back to back, because it's an awesome experience. Reflect on the social commentary being made. Consider that "Mirror, Mirror" was made in 1967 when America had started a war on false pretenses and a whistleblower had revealed that the CIA had "tortured some folks." This sort of disguised social commentary is, after all, the very essence of Star Trek.
