Good season premiere. Good action episode. It's a joy to watch. In particular, it's a joy to watch the feast. Execution is mediocre though. That is basically a dark room with a vat of wine in the center. The Klingon's come across somewhat dim-witted given how badly the DS9 officers' disguise really is. I'd have preferred more sophistication. You also shouldn't contemplate too much about how realistic the plan was in the first place and how well it all went eventually. The twist with Martok was okay but nothing that fundamentally refines this otherwise simple story.

The introduction to the action part is also very slow. Some talking Sisko, Kira, Dukat. Some talking to depressed Odo. That's all very inconsequential and clearly designed to bring returning viewers up to speed after the in-between seasons break.

A good episode, but it could have been so much better if Odo and Sisko were a little more competent in the room with Gowron. Their unusual ineptitude really destroyed the episode for me.
