The immigration story still feels unnecessary (it feels like they needed a task for Seven, Rios, Raffi and have chosen to tell an an inconsequential action sub-plot in which they don't care about the actual characters). Plus I get "bored" of the setting: it looks nice and all but ain't that a sci-fi show supposed to take place in space and in the distant future? Plus, I get bored of this predictable pattern: every episode adds another all-star character (or a relative or an actor) from the original TNG show. Who's next? Tasha? Spot? Barclay? Troi? I mean, don't get me wrong here, the Soong story is intriguing and nicely told (w/o further explanation not very 2024-ish though given the tech he uses - although I know that Star Trek's timeline isn't identical to our real world) and it doesn't feel like pure fan service but it really takes focus away from the already established characters, which they can't devote the time to they would have deserved. I mean, it's a shame: they have presumably implants-less (and thus; probably disoriented) Seven - one of the most intriguing and multi-layered characters ever in StarTrek - (and a Borg Queen as her obvious nemesis) but the writers don't seem to care. The one positive thing though is that they really worked hard to find a better role for Agnes. She was not very well perceived (by me) in season one and she's still not a very likeable heroine but she is quickly becoming the central character in this season. And her story is well told for the most part. The Borg queen had a cunning plan after all and I approve the idea that Agnes is about to become her "vessel". [which, admittedly, everybody could see from the start].
Overall it's a better episode than the last one. I like the moderate pace and the absence of action (a few scenes aside). And I like that Q's "game" is so mysterious and everyone is puzzled what Q (and the Borg) are really up to (the crew is puzzled and we, the audience, have even more puzzle pieces to play with). I really want to know.
Biggest plot hole: A random french officer from a rural town wouldn't be able to speak English :-)
For me the best part of this episode was Lea Thompson!!
Agnes is once again leading the most irrational character ranking, in this season. Raffi and Rios really must try harder.
Agnes also beats Raffi in the most unlikable character competition, though that is a tighter race.
Can't say much more about the rest of this episode, as they just keep shifting parts of the puzzle around without the plot getting any deeper or inspirational.
There is so much nonesense going on, so many questions... but it looks nice.
Agnes & the Queen scenes are ripped straight outta Farscape with Criton & Scorpious...remember when their brains were fused? The Queen even dons the black leather strappy looking wardrobe like Scorpious...ugh...
The writers are hitting on all the recent social struggles of the past 3 yrs aren't they? Mental health, political junk, wokeness...I wonder how far down the dark hole of depression they're gonna take us with Picards family history with the affliction...
The EMP disables the bus but not the radios of the police people or the iPhone a prisoner had in his pocket? What in the Gene Roddenberry fuck?
Quite boring tbh. They'd completely disturb the timeline that way... Agnes and the Borg Queen might become an interesting duo in a strange way but I don't really care about anything in this show anymore.

Well didn't take this second season long to go where the first season went and that's down the crapper.
What a load of Woke Garbage. Between Laris not Laris and Guinan not Guinan and now the fate of the primary timeline and the hole of the Galaxy and humanity rest of this one Picard "WOMAN"..eye role.
They just keep adding another ridiculous lair but never going anywhere interesting with it to keep the story engaging not that it ever has been.
This show is like a dog chasing It's own tail

I saw that borg storyline light years away, and she's definitely the Queen on the stargazer am telling you now, why else ask just for Picard.
Oh yeah and the cop can just gain access to board the ship that all of a Sudden has a faulty cloak,
It's all just to convenient for the plot.
I call it go's damn lazy writing.
Poor episode for a Woke bull-crap boring show and Patrick looks nackerd in every scene you can literally hear him weezing and see him breathing heavily, that ain't acting.
81yrs old I now understand why he's calling a day with season 3 the old Swan song for Picard. Even Patrick has gone on record to say that after season 3 he will never be Picard again, this is it for him.
Thank God for that because this show is bad and I mean really really Bad.
Woke crap, Starfleet officers behaving like amateurs, Hollywood style soap opera that pretends to be a story and a shitload of time travel nonsense.

I dialed the phone number on the Q calling card and got to listen to a cute little Q voicemail message. But then I started wondering: was there a point to remotely 3D printing the card? Why not just continue using that nice curved ultra-wide monitor to display the phone number or whatever other data?

More pieces of the puzzle but still no full picture developing.
It actually wasn't too bad. We see more of Q, which is a good thing given deLancies great performance. Concerning Q: Why would he rip himself of his own power in a scenario he himself created ? Doesn't make sense and suggest that someone else is involved ?
So, Laris isn't Laris but a supervisor like Gary Seven. That's an interesting angle that I hope get's further developed than just this short mentioning. I'm also getting some Edith Keeler vibes with Renee Picard in the sense that she was essential for the timeline. Interestingly Keeler's survival would have let probably to the same future as Renee not making the flight. Coincidence ?
The ICE storyline is hopefully done with and it was obviously just there to make a point. Let's leave it at that.
I don't like the Jurati plot because I don't like Jurati. And I'm dissapointed in how they used the Borg Queen so far. But that's just me personally.
Bringing in Brent Spiner as another Soong ancestor is a nice angle that, in a way, gives more depth. Althought I fear he's just a tool here. And Isa Briones finally got to make her appearance in this timeline, too.
One thing that pains me to say a bit is that it feels that Patrick Stewart seems exhausted in almost every scene he's in. It could be intentional in how he plays Picard as a fragile old man. I hope it is because otherwise it would mean it's too much for him. Which could be normal given his age but makes me wonder about his involvement in season 3.

Okay that all but confirms Jurati will be the future Borg Queen we saw. She's got the old Queen as a perma girlfriend in her head too. Wild but I'm going with it.
Voyager was more my bag than Next Gen so I don't really get the hard on people have for Q. He is a general nigh-fantasy annoyance to the rest of the sci fi goodness. This whole season is his fuckery. What's the point?
There it is, finally the ace is played. It's a great delight when you know that it's going to happen but you don't know exactly how, and then WHAM, right between the eyes. Good times.
