That's actually a great story. Better than most TOS plots tbh. It makes of course no sense. And as much as I like the fact that aliens really look like aliens, Big Bird looks extremely silly. Best part: the scenes in the past on Vulcan.

PS: "yesteryear": a word that should be used more often.

I am new to Star Trek and I really liked the storyline in this episode as we learn more about the Vulcan culture and Spock himself, the character I am most curious about since he is the only person not coming from Earth among the Enterprise crew.

It's a little troubling that this series is two stories in and there's already a time-travel plot. However, this turned out to be a rather touching story about older Spock helping younger Spock through a defining moment in his life.

The animation is once again shoddy (and most certainly will continue to be). The Vulcan planet is kind of underwhelming, uninspired really. One entertaining moment occurs when young Spock is threatened by a yellow-green lizard-tiger thing. The beast's roar is actually that of Godzilla. As a massive Godzilla fan, I'd know that roar anytime I hear it. I wonder if they flat-out stole it or if they were licensed to use it? Either way, it put a big smile on my face.

As a pet owner, the decision young Spock has to make regarding the life of his pet is emotionally tough.
