The show incorporates Q pretty well here. It's a fun episode that calls back to the mayhem he caused on The Next Generation and moves his character to a new place. The chemistry between John de Lancie and Kate Mulgrew is pretty good, too, allowing them to both have some fun with the parts. I liked the way that Janeway lets loose and goes along with what Q gets her caught up in (and her hiding behind the sofa got quite funny).

Just as entertaining is Suzie Plankston as the female Q. She's appeared in various roles across Star Trek and they've all been pretty enjoyable. Here she really plays up the arrogance of a Q and just lets loose. It works.

Q's previous appearance in Voyager didn't really work for me, because there's no reason for him not to just send them home. Here it's handled a little better and even addressed by the characters, but it does still linger. Still, it's easy to get swept up in this one as Q feels like his old self and there's a nice Civil War-era adventure.

I'm interested in seeing if Q's fatherhood has any impact.

Another totally inconsequential Q episode. But it's fun. He's off course a silly character but de Lancie is a great actor and witnessing another squabble within the continuum is funny. You actually learn more about the continuum in Voyager than in any other show of the franchise.

One of the best things Voyager did was how they portrayed The Q. Instead of just being a pain in the you-know-what most of the time, the writers gave them much more depth. And the fact that we have a female captain in Janeway opened up some avenues, too. John and Kate have great chemistry and their scenes together are clearly a highlight.

I was also very pleased to see Suzie again. K'Ehlyr was one of my favorite characters over at TNG and I was very angry when they killed her of. Her portrayal of a female Q is brilliant.

It's worth watching just to hear Q call Neelix a "bar rodent".

Fun little episode... More "realistic" Q than TNG.

A very good one. Good acting. Funny. Q Is always Q But this Time he was The best Q.
For a thanks he could have taken The Voyager closer to Earth. Lets say 10 years. Anyway. Fun to Watch.
