Some of the best storylines in all of Star Wars with the Mortis in s3, Maul in s4&5, Yoda in s6, and the incredible final 4 episodes that rival any movie. The early seasons especially though are just too inconsistent, up and down and all over the place tonally. There are about 80 skippable episodes so it's hard to give the series as a whole a great score despite some 10/10 arcs.
Just finished the show. The final 4 episodes are EPIC, the rest of the seasons are a bit of hit and miss with several interesting parts of world's and people affected by the war and the way they see it.
Ashoka Tano is an excellent character. she's likable, honest, has her heart on the right place and grows so much throughout the show.
She makes a terrific pair with Anakin Skywalker and it's great to see a padawan with Skywalker.
Takes us through the clone wars, up until order 66. Grows our vision of the clones as human beings and their search of self and purpose.
Missing from the show are pivotal parts of the plot, like Dooku's death, Grievous's capture and the standoff between the chancellor, na Windu and the fall of Anakin into Darth Vader.
On a side note, Jedis are idiots. May be because of their ideals, but they are found lacking throughout the whole show. Not very clever, insightful, sharp or that much great warriors as they are made out to be. It gets better towards the end.
Overall, loved the show!
Yeah it's a kids show, but that doesn't mean it can't be great and have a lot of depth
These characters really make me love the prequels
Very entertaining, I enjoyed this very much. Took me about 10 days for the whole show.
Lots of action, space battles, ground battles, Lightsabre fights. But what really makes it worth watching is the writing, some really good story arcs that complement the whole saga.
I would recommend this wether you're a Star Wars fan or not.
Finally, an animated cartoon series for adults that for once is not coming out of Japan. And its computer animated on top of that!
The reboot of the tv show can without a doubt be called successful. Star Wars: The Clone Wars is filled with action, comedy and to some extend drama. A lot of planets and species from the movies, comics and books are in this tv show. The story takes place between episode II and episode III of the movies, right when the war between the Separatist Alliance and the Galactic Republic is at his peak.
The computer animation is very nicely done. Its a unique melding of both CGI techniques and Japanese anime. The characters look kinda cartoonish in a way. Its very colourful and creative. I like it very much.
Even if you are not a Star Wars fan you should see this animated tv show. The action is very good and the storylines are very enjoyable. I highly recommend this animated tv show to anyone who is interested in some good action and battles in space.
Only a few episodes in my chronological journey with this and all I have to say is this Anakin can GET IT!!!!:sweat_drops:
I'm not sure how much time has passed since Episode II but Anakin has a major shift in character from the movie and series. The film has him half off his rocker and yet in this series he seems so well adjusted lol.
Season 1: 7.8
Season 2: 7.9
Season 3: 7.6
Season 4: 7.4
Season 5: 6.6
Season 6: 6.6
Season 7: 5.9
(49.8 ÷ 7)
Overall: 7.1
Just finished it. It's way better than I expected, with good plot, good new characters and backstory for old, loved ones.
Highly recommended!
Easily the best Star Wars content since the original trilogy. Sorry, Mandalorian.

Entire Series Review:
The Clone Wars as an entire series feels weird to rate or review because the show evolved and changed as it went on. The first seasons were very kid-friendly and provided some entertainment but beyond that I didn't love them. The middle seasons turned things up a notch and it got pretty great with its storytelling and character work. And the final season was a mixed bag but the final four episodes were perfection in my eyes. Each season seemed to have arcs that were really great and some arcs that just fell flat or weren't very engaging, so overall the show feels like a mixed bag. But when you look at the character arcs for the biggest characters across the entire series, the storytelling was phenomenal. Anakin and Ahsoka are amazing characters in this show and their relationship even more amazing. Emotional moments in the final season hit so much harder having spent all this time with the characters, and that includes the clones. Because we got time to spend with them and they were treated like actual characters, people like Rex and Fives had some of the best emotional scenes I've seen in Star Wars, and Order 66 hits harder than ever. The use of characters like Maul, Obi-Wan, the Chancellor, and more were executed very well throughout the entire series as well. Taking it all together, the series shows us different corners of the galaxy, expands on the lore, introduces us to new enjoyable characters, and strengthens characters we already know. It may be a mixed bag, but it's now one of my favorite pieces of media to come out of the franchise.
7.0/10 -- Good
This is my first foray into the realms of animated shows set in the Star Wars universe, having been very ambivalent them as I was expecting them to be an afront to the live action films and shows. I'm currently halfway through Season 1, and have to say that, in general, I've been pleasantly surprised. The plots are mostly pretty good, and the continuing story arc is in line with what you'd expect from having watched the live action stuff. However, there are a few things that really make me want to scythe the heads off the script writers with a lightsaber.
1) Firstly, why in Yoda's name did they feel the need to flog the "I've got a bad feeling about this" line to death? Literally in every episode that I've watched so far, one or more characters has said this line at least once, sometimes multiple times, in situations where, in many cases, a braindead womp rat could have worked out that it's a bad situation (e.g. being shot at by an army of battle droids when all you have to fight them with is a cowardly protocol droid) never mind someone with a functioning brain and/or Jedi insight. That line was amusing, once, in A New Hope (I think) when Han Solo said it, but not on repeat in every single dangerous situation. It's very lazy scripting, and so irritating that, if it carries on until the end of season 1, I won't even bother with the other six because it'll make me want to ram a blaster in my mouth and pull the trigger.
2) The stereotyping and/or behaviour of some of the characters (both good and bad) is, at times, unbelievably stupid or thoughtless, given that they're supposed to be highly trained (and in most cases) experienced individuals; behaviour which seems deliberately contrived to fit the plot without being realistic, but as this animated show is clearly aimed at a younger audience than the live action shows, this doesn't jar(jar) too much.
3) That totally unnecessary news-reporter-style commentary at the start of every episode. It's really cheap and corny, and detracts from the quality of the rest of the episode (points 1 and 2 notwithstanding). Why not just do a simple "last time on Clone Wars" recap before the opening credits roll, like nearly every other TV show on the planet?
4) The banter between the battle droids, and their attitude, is amusing and lends a much-needed lighter tone to the otherwise gloomy proceedings. However, the Geonosians were master engineers and droid builders (they designed the original Death Star) so you have to wonder what they were thinking when building battle droids with unique personalities and emotions, and the ability to wilfully defy orders. Perhaps a deliberate ploy to screw over their customers? Seems reckless and self-defeating to me. Maybe by being self-aware they could more adaptable fighters, but emotions can only ever be a detriment to a killing machine. I'm amazed that they were used so much for these very reasons - although it helped that Grievous was just an augmented battle droid himself.
** EDIT (31/01/2023) ** Having now watched The Clone Wars in its entirety, I am pleased to report that, after season 1, points 1 and 2 were gradually addressed. The plots improved, the characters mostly stopped using any repetitive catchphrases, and overall the majority of the episodes are worth watching and provide good insights into how The Republic succumbed to corruption and complacency, both within the senate and the Jedi Council, how Senator Palpatine so cleverly played both and also played the Separatists, how Palpatine truly made real his Sith name, Darth Sidious, as the insidious nature of his megalomania, and particularly Order 66, so devastatingly demonstrate. Ahsoka, who initially was irritating and irrational, has evolved into a strong, well-balanced, incorruptible individual who learns that being a Jedi is a double-edged sword (or saber) and that the Republic and the Separatists are really just two sides of the same galactic coin. Seeing Anakin portrayed as a far better, more likeable character than he was in the movies, and Yoda's Force journey, was also great. I would now recommend all Star Wars fans to watch TCW to further fill in the backstory between Prequel episodes 2 and 3 movies. It also helped clarify a few things in RoTS, which I watched again straight after finishing TCW season 7, which was fantastic; easily the best season, and the final four episodes were 10/10.
I'm now starting on The Bad Batch, as I'm attempting to watch all the SW productions in universe-timeline order.
The scowling in this show is top tier.
Had some great arcs throughout the series despite all of Jar Jar's being skippable. Most seasons having Episodes being out of order is so unnecessary. Now that it's all concluded and Disney+ hosted, I wish they would order it properly.
I am glad they made this last season, it was epic. It made the hole star wars saga complete.
Expands the universe not only with the old characters but a large selection of new ones that have unique personalities, circumstances, and stories. Sadly this is something Disney has been drawing away from with their newer shows.
Perhaps the best entry in the Star Wars franchise after the Original Trilogy which provided a lot of backstory about Clone Troopers, Ashoka Tano (who should have been included in the movies), Count Dooku and how Darth Sidious A.K.A Chancellor Palpatine actually controller both sides and almost wiped out the Jedi Order.
The show gets a lot better in the later seasons. There are some episodes that are not necessary to the main story but they give us the time and moment to get attached with characters and some notable clone troopers like Commander Rex, Echo, Fives, Tup. The show fulfils its purpose to depict what happened between Episode II and Episode III and the final season couldn't be better.
Being an animated series it never shies off when coming to the darker elements of the Star Wars universe. With its beautiful graphics, intense action sequences and some high moments, this lived up to its expectations. The good thing that happened in The Clone Wars is this didn't dwell on something that is already shown in the prequel trilogy and it is not centred around a few characters which introduced us to a larger universe. This is a must-watch for every star wars fan and if you are new to the universe at least watch the prequel trilogy.
As a first time watcher of Star Wars, clone wars is what has got me hooked into this universe. Great character development, great action and great story telling. Excellent show.
This is an interesting show that can be a bit hit and miss.
I think it struggles with identity, not knowing whether it’s telling serious Star Wars stories or catering to kids who like PEW PEW BOOM.
As an adult it’s at its best when particularly towards the end they take it seriously and add depth to the Star Wars Universe and story.
Unfortunately it’s pretty scattered in terms of the good and the bad. I had seen some guides online to watching interesting episodes which might save some time.
Hit and miss at worse it’s just a kiddy Star Wars after though but at best it really adds to it. 7/10
Ahsoka is great it's good to see a live-action version
Clone Wars is the best SW related media out there next to the original trilogy (and some books). Some arcs and especially the last one in S7 are up there as the most amazing stories from this universe ever to be put on screen.
The Clone Wars is a thrilling collection of war stories. The Clone Wars is more concerned with the people who live among the stars than any other entry in the franchise. But more than anything else, The Clone Wars is a tragedy. And as someone who's always found the tragedy in Star Wars to be the most compelling element, that's perfect for me.
Why was Season 7 delayed in 16 days?
Another season is confirmed, and looks great
only in germany will it be a torrent and in English

I find it really tough to rate this show. The majority of it, is just pretty meh/fair (5-6/10). But there are a lot of exceptional highs. Lots of arcs well deserving of high 8-10/10 ratings. However, as well as the highs, there are also many lows. For me, the show was just very inconsistent in terms of how captivating it was. There were times where I had to sludge through 4 episodes in a row that were filled with corny dialogue and boring plotlines, and that's without me even mentioning Jar Jar or Padme episodes. But there were other times where I was on the edge of my seat for a 4 episode arc.
In the end, I have to settle with a good score of 7/10. If I were to take an average of all my ratings throughout the show, it's probably more like a 6/10. But as a Star Wars fan who was very much satisfied with the good arcs, I bump that 6 up to a 7.
