As much as I like Hondo it really takes a stretch of imagination and morals to go from watching Hondo willing to murder children to then seeing him suddenly change and even going out of his way to help people who suddenly forgive him and free a potential child killer.
it really did ruin what could have been a great arc. An unbelievable ending to a fun story. It's like watching Michael Myers turn into the hero at the end of Halloween.

6.8/10. A kind of tepid finale to a Clone Wars arc I've really enjoyed. Hondo suddenly finding his heart of gold after being particularly evil over the last couple of episodes (including being totally being to kill the younglings) didn't make much sense. The show tried to handwave it a bit with his whole "today I feel like this" dialogue, but I didn't really buy his turn, and that made his little wink to Katooni feel pretty forced. Again, they tried to go Han Solo with him -- scoundrel who's only interested in money but then does some good when pressed -- but it didn't really work with the character we'd seen as of late. Plus, the pirates catching up to the Jedi kind of retroactively takes the bloom off the rose of the prior episode.
On top of that, while some of the action was quite good, it got to kind of static levels after a while. Frankly, the best part of the episode was seeing Ahsoka seem so capable and dare I say, badass, when directing the kids and fighting off Grievous one-on-one. One of the persistent stories over the course of this show has been Ahsoka maturing and becoming more and more ready to be a leader a full-fledged Jedi knight, and having her be responsible for a pack of younglings only helps to show how far she's come and how self-sufficient and ready she is now.
