I don't normally go in for these sorts of competition shows, but Steampunk'd started to autoplay and I was enraptured. I adore the steampunk aesthetic (not enough to live with it in my home 24/7), and was thrilled with how these teams managed to craft the aesthetic into their challenges. What really caught my eye, kept me watching, and earned this series its rating? The outfits that went with each room.

While I enjoy the aesthetic, I find it tragic that the Makers, valued members of this subculture, are made to feel negatively about their work or of their fellows. +1 for steampunk on TV, but -5 for the elimination show format.
