Did she just choose her feelings over world peace?
I'm just hoping that Winn's new friend doesn't turn out to be some sort of evil plant. Not that that wouldn't work story-wise, but that that approach is just too overused, and that, from what little we've seen so far, she has some potential to be more interesting than that...
This was such an enjoyable episode. Mr. Mxyzptlk was a good villain and Kara was an absolute badass. I didn't know drinking orange juice could be sassy, but she totally pulled it off. And the way she tricked him was so damn clever. But somehow I think Clark will have something to say about her destroying the statue of his dad.
Can we please get a break from men falling in love with Kara? I get it. I really do. I'm in love with her too. But let that poor girl rest. First Winn's feelings for her almost ruined their friendship, then the guy she just wanted to mentor started pursuing her, and in this episode a dude literally threatened to destroy the world to get her to marry him. Stop. She doesn't need this shit. She needs a hug, a dog and a chance to focus on herself instead of some ain't-shit fuckboy who thinks that he can get away with not listening to her and being the epitome of toxic masculinity, and that respecting her is a super impressive thing to do. No, dickhead, you don't promise to respect her just because she's mad at you and you want to get her off your back. You respect her because it's what decent people do. Also because she's obviously smarter and more experienced than you, and she's the best, kindest, most selfless person you'll ever meet. She deserves respect and that trashcan of a person is only willing to give it to her when it's convenient for him. This is why I hate Mon-El. The bar is set so fucking low for him at this point - just like for any other cishet white male in the history of everything - and he still fails to reach it. And he gets the girl anyway. This is bullshit.
Wow, good for Winn. I'm really happy for him. I definitely want to see more of Lyra. Let's just hope that she doesn't turn out to be evil, or the DEO might just officially ban Winn from dating ever again.
Maggie is a nerd who loves bonsai trees. Your fave could never. And her story absolutely broke my heart. I had tears in my eyes when she was telling it. She's a good, pure cinnamon roll that needs to be protected at all costs. I wish she got enough screentime for us to actually get to know her. She's such an interesting character with so much potential, but she practically doesn't exist outside of her relationship with Alex. I mean, I adore Sanvers. I live for Sanvers. And what Maggie did for Alex at the end of the episode made me weep like a little bitch. But let her be her own person too.
Oh, and stop interrupting beautiful, moving, heartwarming Sanvers scenes with Karamel crap. This isn't the first time this has happened and I hate it.
I already know I'm gonna love the he'll out of this episode. It'll be hilarious. Don't expect seriousness, Mr. Mxzyptlk's here! Where's the Wavwrider when you need one? I've never wanted it so bad for a Monday to come
Let's get Mxyzed!!! The Mxy Master's in the house. I loved everything with Mr Mxyzptlk. He was awesome. Can't wait to see him again. Can't get enough of that wonderful Mxyzptlk! "I don't have time to learn your moon language", lol. At the end I felt bad for him when he said "I just want someone to love me". I love you Mxy! All the time I was waiting for him to be in scene and to listen to that flamboyant sing-songy language. If he comes to my room right now, I wouldn't think it twice. "It's a bird, it's a plane...It's SuperMxyzptlk! I actually didn't expect him to be that handsome. Man, why do I love Tricksters so much? This is insane.
I relate to Maggie in so many levels: " "Valentine's Day makes me wanna puke". It made my day.
All the references were on point "You wanna get nuts? Let's get nuts". Michael Keaton, is that you? As soon as I heard it, I got the goofiest grin in my face ever.
I didn't mind that it was a relationship episode since it's a Valentine's Day story but it made me realized how many romance this show has been using lately. And even though some looked natural, others seem forced.
However, the episode felt like a large argument about why Kara and Mon-El are terrible together and it ended up with them being together... I'm not convinced. However, in this episode they really had chemistry. But they are extremely different together. Mon-El is so funny and Kara is awesome by herself but when they're together he becomes reckless and Kara's feelings seems forced. Message sent to young girls: even though he insults and demeans, doesn't respect your capabilities and lies to you, his love justifies his behaviour. Well, bullshit.
Winn's date looked like a vampire form Buffy. I feel that bar fight was staged just for her to get information out of him. She wants a Winn baby! I just hope she doesn't use him. What if she's using him to get to Mon-El? And James was great this episode, lol. And congratulations to Melissa for saying Mxyzptlk so many times.
Thank God, Karamel is finally happening! I really don't get the hate that Mon-El gets. He's far from perfect but he is most certainly getting there and they both actually have chemistry with each other. Unlike James, for example.
Does anyone like Mon-El? Does Kara even like Mon-El? Does Mon-El even like Mon-El? He might be the most insufferable "hero" in the history of modern television; I'm looking at you, Jack Shephard from Lost. You weren't even this obnoxious. How can the writers consciously put two relationships between two close sisters side by side on our screens and not seeing the glaring deficiencies and toxicity of one especially in comparison to the others? Although I'm not the biggest fan of Maggie and Alex, the tenderness and care they show one another is pain stakingly obvious. Meanwhile, Mon-El tells Kara that she's incompetent and full of herself. Could two people be any less properly matched? Who thought this was a good idea?
I will say that I loved Mon-El pausing mid-argument to say hi to a DEO agent.
Mxyzptlk, for his part, is a charming villian who I wouldn't have minded having around for a much longer arc. And it's nice to see Winn doing -something-.
Am I the only one who would have chosen Mr. Mxyzptlk?
What's a "LOO-buh-vitch-er"? That's not how it's pronounced.
This whole episode was so unnecessary, and so forced. I care about precisely none of the romances in this series, and I give precisely zero fucks about Valentine's Day. Couldn't we have had a normal episode as usual instead of devoting a week to a "manufactured holiday for patsies"?
Wow. The episode felt like one big example of why not to date Mon-El yet they still end it with them getting together? Mxy 'myxed' it up a bit which was fun but really didn't do Bland-El any favours. Could really do without this storyline. Kara deserves better or no focus on her love life at all.
The Winn romance felt very shoehorned in, will see where that goes?
Maggie and Alex scenes were good if a little out the blue with Maggie's big reaction! Thought Alex's attempt at Valentine's day was really sweet. Glad it worked out in the end either way!
Wow, Kara in the wedding dress, I'm in love!
I just feel like this episode was super unnecessary and too lovee orientated and cringey for me. I get that it was nice to have a valintines day special but It just didn't feel Supergirl too me. although I do continue to love the Alex and Maggie romance this new one between Winn and the alien seems a bit weird for me. It's not because it's something different it's more that I feel it was just shoved in there because why the hell not. As the show progresses the romance might become more developed but it was very rushed from my point of view in this episode.
this episode is too cute. I love Mxy and Mon El.
Mon-el is the worst thing that has happenend to this show, for real.
To love or be loved, that feeling that can make you fly or sink you into misery. Vera Wang paid for the mention?
Lyra's prosthetics remind me of the vampires in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Makes me appreciate this show a bit more
I didn't appreciate at all some dude coming to National City and basically forcing Kara into marrying him. That stuff would never happen to a male main character, so why is it okay for it to happen to a female one? It's honestly kinda offensive.
I totally missed the part where Alex and Maggie moved in together LOL
I'm sorta excited about Winn dating an alien.
Also, YES! THEY KISSED! FINALLY! phew. I'm sorry for everyone who hates the ship, but they have such good chemistry that I can't help but like them as a couple. So damn adorable!
every episode that airs i realise more and more how little i care for karamel, and how much their nonsense encroaches on sanvers airtime
Should have at least had Mxy wear a derby. He seemed too much like one of the characters from "Lost Girl."
This episode was pretty entertaining, but seemed rather forced from a writing perspective.

Mr. Mxyzptlk was funny and owned this episode. While they actually used Winslow this week, other than just as the guy who makes gadgets for Guardian. His scenes with a alien girl are cute and funny.
The Alex and Maggie scenes are brave and moving. But I care about their relationship as much as I do James at the moment. Since a little too much focus is on it.
Kara and Mon-El scenes aren't as bad as some say since she actually has chemistry with him. Her and James was just forced last season. Now James is as forced on us as a superhero.
