Why they gotta pretend she's stronger than superman
Wonder how many people are going to bitch about the whole "gay sister marriage" thing, so far I'm counting two posts from the same person at the time of writing this.
I hope Mon-El/Karamel haters are happy at last cause I sure as hell am sad :'(.
The Supergirl/Superman and Supergirl/Rhea fights were really cool. Glad to have Cat back at CatCo though I doubt it's going to last.
Can I please get a Cat Grant to give me motivational speeches whenever I'm down?? Also: YAY TO CAT'S FINAL WORDS!!
So, it's the season finale. For me was a well done writing and acting, the best girl-focus of the season to be honest. I loved how Kara found the way to beat Superman, was a good battle. I'm not going to lie, I dissapointed about Rhea's death, it could be better or maybe she could survive and be a prisioner.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that in the 3rd season they are going to work to bring back Mon-El to the Earth and of course, Lena is who's going to make that happen.
Alex and Maggie engagement rumors were true. So shocked. It's amazing. Stop of being haters of this relationship, you stupid closets' homophobes.
I'm excited for the next season.
WOW! Absolutely amazing season finale. It was a nice wrap up forth whole season but please, someone tell me that Cat Grant is going to stick in season 3. And she knew! I knew she knew. but I couldn't help but screaming so loud. I wanted to point out Melissa's acting. I didn't expect this ending to be so touching and emotional. I totally felt her pain. it was so damn real. I'm glad Mon-El is gone, so,so glad but it was too obvious that he was going to "sacrifice" himself to save her. I guess that's Mon-El story. He started on a pod and ended on another one. That's his season's storyarc. From pod to pod we'll carry on. I guess we have another 5 months of "Who's in the Pod? Who's in the fucking Pod?" I guess it's, Reign? They even said her name so it could be her and since she's an enemy of Supergirl it all makes perfect sense.
I loved that Calista Flockhart made a Star Wars joke "Star Wars? Never seen it". Which is even funnier when you know she's married to Harrison Ford. And the "they have WiFi in the Himalayas", I laughed more than I should. I guess that's because they're not barbarians, lol.
and that wormhole? at first I thought it was all about time travel and that he was gonna appear in Legends or something. Then I remember today is not Tuesday.
Kara was way happier when the show was in CBS. Sad Kara makes me sad. I just have to say something: Melissa Benoist was born to play Kara Danvers. She's an incredible actress and she deserves much more recognition. Her emotional scenes are some of the best I've ever seen and I swear I feel her happiness when she's happy and her darkness just blows me away. I can't wait to see all the comments bitching about the gay marriage.
the only thing that pissed me off a little was the fact that Kara was stronger than Superman. Well, no way. They could've at least said that it was the Kryptonite that weakened him, but no way he's weaker. Plus, Superman and Supergirl fighting together was bloody awesome. So hyped for season 3!
Earth saved from the Daximite fleet by infusing the atmosphere with toxic-to-the-invaders Red Dust— er, I mean, lead particulates. Hmm. There's no way that those levels can be so quickly so high as to be so quickly fatal to Daximites and not have significant interesting effects on humans over time. We already have the term "lead poisoning" in our vocabulary for a reason.
Although I liked some aspects of the episode, some (including the savior-lead) just feel like careless sloppy writing. There's been a lot of strong potential peeking out all over this season, sometimes manifesting itself better than others. I just hope that the writing matures significantly next season, more thinking through of the connections and implications and verisimilitude of it all, and less careless contempt for the believability of fundamental plot components.
That, and more good excuses for crossovers with Earth-1. (Like Guardian getting some tactical lessons from Green Arrow. Or the Green Arrow suddenly finding himself in Earth-38's Gotham.) That'd be good, too. (Just sayin'.) ;-)
First things first:
I FREAKING KNEW THAT CAT KNEW FOR SUPERGIRL!!! I mean, how can you don't see it? I hope for Lena that she knows too, bc you don't have to be a genius to get that.
Also:
There are a lot of unrealistic things, as always, this actually might be the most unrealistic show i watch (despite the fact that is Science Fiction of course). But if you watch it as a full entertainment, this is cool !
I'm actually excited for the season 3. Hope i won't get disappointed (again)
Had to throw in the gay gay gay Hollywood leftist agenda at the end. Goodbye for good to a great super hero. The first real supergirl show and it's ruined by Hollywood leftists.
Well, that's it for this show. Was a good last episode for the show finale. Until they threw in the gay sister marriage. They just couldn't make it about supergirl. Hope for a superman spinoff. Of course supergirl beat superman. It is a liberal written show where woman is the dominant figure here. I miss the days if Louis and Clark. Thanks for ruining a good super hero.
That utility box of whatever that gets knocked down at the beginning of the fight between Supergirl and Rhea is a great metaphor for the writing in this episode. See, it falls over and sparks and shit—looks cool, right?—but there's nothing under it! No wires, no pipes, nothing. It leaves behind a blank space. It must have been there on the rooftop for a reason, right? Nope. No purpose but to get knocked over.
This episode is full of stuff that doesn't make sense, like that. Every Daxamite soldier teleports back to their ships, but Rhea stays to beg Mon-El to save her, and dies when he doesn't? Perfect sense. Mon-El has "a few minutes" before the lead in the atmosphere kills him, but manages to make it all the way to the Kryptonian pod and has time to give a little speech to Kara? Perfect sense!
I admit to being emotionally affected by the drama, sure…but that lasted only as long as it took for my rational brain to catch up and say, "Whoa, wait up, how does that work?!" That happened a lot.
At this point, I realize why it's taken me so long to bother finishing this season. I did stall with just the one episode left, and it's definitely because the believability of the writing is meh at best. They really do go for the "Bam! Pow! Special effects!" wow-factor without really thinking about whether that actually makes sense for the characters and the plot. It gets really annoying.
Speaking of things that don't make sense for the plot, they had a great ending tied up AND THEN RUINED IT with a teaser for the next season. I'm so done.
HA! I KNEW IT! I F'ING KNEW IT!
Why they gotta pretend she's stronger than superman
Kara and Mon-El were not perfect together, but still cute imo. So this ep was sad in that regard. Cat knowing about Supergirl was great
Mon-el was such a good guy I don’t get why these people are so happy and are mad he’s a “White boy”. He was one of the best characters and I’m gonna be happy to see how pissed you all are when he inevitably comes back.
Just bring kat grant back every season finale to give the final speech. Is there a reason why Mon-el and his mum are more powerful than all their actual warriors combined? Maybe coz they royals? Ima miss Mon-el, but happy he had such a nice ending. Not too far from crisis on earth X now....
Of course Cat knew Kara is Supergirl!
Melissa's acting during that goodbye scene was truly superb. She looked completely heartbroken.
If Lar Gand is dead and Rhea is now dead too, does that mean that Mon-El is now the king of the Daxamites? That's an interesting thought...
So, this was a great episode in many ways. The glorious return of M'gann and, much more impressively and incredibly, Cat Grant! Superman! The Guardian, Lena, and Winn all getting to do something helpful (I do wonder why Lyra wasn't around, though). Alex and Maggie being badass partners in crime (stopping)! The farewell of Mon-El! Cat revealing that, obviously, she knows Kara is SuperGirl!
What's more, while I've had nothing short of hatred for Mon-El this whole season, his leaving scene was actually so well acted that I almost - ALMOST - felt sorry he was leaving.
And perhaps best of all; THE SWEETEST SANVERS PROPOSAL EVER!
All that said, I'm really sick of everyone pretending James and Kara were never a thing. Kara literally says something to Cat about Mon-El being the only person she's ever had feelings for? Ooooookay. And that ending? Boring, a little contrived. I'm sick of all of these "lasts" turning out not to really be "lasts" (Mon-El/Rhea/apparently thousands of Daxamites, J'onn/M'gann, Clark/Kara/creepy new twist). You're cheapening your lore!
Well, the episode was better than the last one so there's that. That's about all I can say for this except that I may be the only person who will miss Mon-El. Otherwise, this season only left me with a bigger question: will I bother watching season 3?
Season finale. Oh Cat Grant how much we miss you, preparing T3
This was better than the first season finale but there was a lot that was derivative of it. Superman is brainwashed, Cat gives out a pirate broadcast of hope, they work with the alien hating scientist for the greater good. Said scientist comes up with a plan to irradiate the atmosphere to drive off the aliens while banishing a hero. It's for that reason I gave it lower score even though in every way it is a better done version.
Boring... stupid...unrealistic. These are the words describing this episode and even worst the seasons finale.
So, we have this alien owning a fleet of starships able to destroy earth entirely and she is accepting a melee fight on a planet where supergirl has the upper hand. And than Rhea's plan is to get beaten so she can bleed so she can weaken SG. Can i get an Amen on stupidity?
Obviously they couldn't finish the season with embarrassing scenes with Cat Grants yet again "look at me.... look how famous i am...i turned down a proposal" ...pathetic...now one acts like that in rl. And to top it off we get a lesbian wedding...yeeeey...can i get some applause!? Dear writers can you spare us the vomitting scenes? We all know gay people are out there. Accepting them doesn't make them normal. Can you let a family 2 cents tv show without the unnecessary propaganda?

HOLY SHIT! I'M HAVING AN ANEURYSM! A lot of this review is going to be in caps. Forgive me. But honestly, this is what Supergirl should be! Full of heart, putting women at the center, launching abusive former slave owners into space. I'm living. I'm actually excited for season 3. Let's hope the writers don't disappoint us and remember that in Supergirl's case, the recipe for success is: fewer White Boys (yes, there is a significant difference between a white boy and a White Boy, one is a Caucasian male and the other is a fucking trashcan of a person) and more Cat Grant, with a side of the Danvers sisters loving and supporting each other, and women in general having each other's backs.
First of all, CAT KNOWS! I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS SINCE SEASON 1, SHE KNOWS! Cat, you beautiful human. I really hope Calista will be around more next season. Everything's better with Cat. The last two episodes proved that.
M'gann is back! And she and J'onn are in love! That is so adorable. I want to see more of her in season 3.
THEY GOT RID OF MON-EL! WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY! I want to shout it from the rooftops. I want to rent a fucking airplane banner. Apparently, Chris Wood is confirmed to return in season 3, which is unfortunate, but at least he's gone for now. I've talked a lot about his relationship with Kara this season, but no one can tell me that I didn't have good reasons. Abusive garbage fire is still the best name for it that I can think of, and the fact that they framed it as tragic and romantic in the end makes me want to throw up. I can't stand the thought of all those little girls growing up thinking that a man disrespecting you, belittling you and ignoring everything you say is "relationship goals". And I don't care how much he's "changed". That doesn't make up for all the shitty things he's done.
And last but certainly not least, SANVERS ARE GETTING MARRIED! I don't even care that they seem to rush everything a little too much when it comes to this ship. MY TWO CANON LESBIANS IN LOVE ARE GETTING MARRIED! I feel so alive. I feel so blessed. I won't stop smiling for a week. What a wonderful time to be alive. Cry me a river, homophobes. I live in Poland and honestly, Americans ain't got nothing on Poles when it comes to homophobia. A few whiny babies bitching about "leftist propaganda" (because apparently that's what giving people basic rights and allowing them to marry the person they love is called nowadays) is a breeze compared to the kind of shit that I hear in face-to-face conversations every day. Bring it on.
Well, that's a season wrap for Supergirl! See you all in October!
