3x04 The Faithful

Wow, that episode was deep. Really loved how it was written. This season did not disappoint so far.

It's only taken 4 episodes but finally we're back on track. I love the way they handled faith in this episode. I was fascinated by the 'cult like' following of Supergirl/Rao and Kara trying to reconcile with it. What a fantastic storyline.

The splashes of Samantha's struggles with parenthood and the growing bond between all the women was great to see also.
Alex's breaking point of realising she can't settle for a life without children was poignant too. It's not something I can personally understand as I am of the same mindset as Maggie but it's a very solid point that can make or break relationships. If we lose Alex x Maggie I'm glad that it's for a realistic reason like this at least.

And oh man, that reveal at the end when Samantha shut the cabinet and she was covered in Kryptonian writing. Fantastic.

I was worried I would never be hyped about Supergirl again after a shakey start to the season but this ep has given me hope. Bring on Reign!

Nice episode but I just felt like the Alex meltdown of Maggie not wanting kids was too obvious to be coming. They only had to tell us Maggie doesn't want kids, like 4 times now.
The writers do a good job making Alex feel like a realistic lesbian. They also made a tough heroine feel bipolar now as well though. I mean, she is either all happy or crying her eyes out.

Wow deep topics in this ep!

Of course this should be the kind of show that's able to use frickin' "Hallelujah" over a montage without it seeming cringey or trite. And Supergirl has become exactly that kind of show. Even though it doesn't shy away from difficult topics at all, there's a core of earnestness and humanity to it, demonstrating on a weekly basis that the folks in charge fully get what the universal appeal of that "S" is (or should be... cough*zachsnyder*cough). Better still, they've shown from day one that they're also willing to grapple with the ramifications of that "S" being worn by a woman instead of a man.

Alex doing the typical girl thing... agreeing to anything to get married or what ever it is she wants.
Only problem is she can't just pull the "whoops, I guess the birth control didn't work" routine

How do we sum this episode!? We dont... gay drama!!! Is this Supergirl...as in sister/cousin whatever of Superman...uhmm nooo. Its about the step sister of the sister/cousin who is a lesbian. Are you exaggerating!? Uhmm... unfortunately no! is this a show about empowering women!? Uhmmm... as if. No its just plain gay drama.
