Supergirl: Season 6

6x12 Blind Spots

at this point I'm watching it just because I have to finish this series.
awful episode.
Spartan saved it.
the woman in hospital in this episode is soo annoying and doesn't understand that if you say "people are in hospitals because of a building collapsed" Vs a world wide threat.

obviously they were gonna pick to save the world over the concept of "a building collapsing and people being in the hospital" what was Supergirl gonna do ?????

Very poorly written. Strong messages shouldn't feel like forced propaganda. It's just sad

That was so heavy handed. it doesn't even count as a metaphor, you literally had a white woman stealing power from black people. And then all the white superheroes being told to care about black people & being all contrite about being white.

Well, that has to be one of the worst episodes I've seen. Excuse me but can you all just take a moment and stop trying to save the whole world and its population and concentrate on saving just a few people? Me, Me Me, Me, Me.

I am so ready for this show to be done

The CW's writers aren't known for their subtlety, but this one was comparable to a sledgehammer.
I'm not sure what's the worst thing about this episode? the fact they've completely dismissed what they've done since pretty much the beginning of the show or the fact the Super team would have figured it out with or without Kelly's involvement.
Kelly says she wants to fight for people who look like her, but it would have made more sense having her run for the council seat and focus on her social work (they even forgot they had her take over the foster home) than make her become Guardian and have her push Orlando to run for the newly vacant council seat.

The episodes are becoming worse and worse. Not just cause of this woke-overload (I dont have issues with adressing social issues), but they seem so much and forced in the CW shows, its becoming really annoying. Also the writers are doing such a crappy job, I mean, come on, there are supes fighting, buildings exploding, no people around, and suddenly, AFTER the fight started, regular people are just walking by and suddenly screaming cause of this fight? Sure, if I see supes fighting in an alley, I just pass them in this as if nothing would be happening. Riiiiiight. And why is it taking Jonn so much effort to lift a stupid crane? He lifted much heavier stuff without effort, but suddenly hes struggling with a regular crane? Who writes this crap?

Show AND tell, not tell and tell and tell and blah, blah, blah. I fell asleep a few times.

I understand that COVID challenges means fewer physical interactions amongst the actors, and of course dialogue is necessary, but it becomes preachy and undermines your purpose when you rely on it to be the main selling point of your message.

That said, the closing scenes with Kelly winding down for the evening, head scarf, t-shirt, books... are perfect examples of what they should have done throughout, literally more visibility and less lip service. The lil bit of teach-preach to the white girlfriend felt appropriate (end of day, exhaustion, intimate, personal, closing scenes), and should have been the only bit of teach-preach throughout the entire episode.

I'd also like to add that Guardian's new costume is NIIIIIIIICE! I'm digging it, and I hope Joey gets to make recurring appearances (and for the actor to make some coin), that lil human is adorable and his acting is actually pretty good.

The highlight of the show was at the end when he said "Brad move your head" yeah put it back in front of the screen Brad so we don't have to see anymore of this "woke" tripe!!

Definitely one of the worst if not THE worst episode of this show. Poorly written, hamfisted propaganda that had me rolling my eyes and loudly responding to what was happening on the screen. Good god, who the hell approved this trash of an episode?!

The most deliciously ironic and hypocritical part of this episode was in the conversation between Kara and Kelly, where Kara described her own efforts to stand up for alien rights, and Kelly dismissed them as being self-interested (my phrasing) and otherwise invalid because Kara is herself an alien. Uh... Just what group of people is Kelly so worked up about fighting for? People who look like Kelly, perhaps?

It is really disheartening that the very serious issues of racism and unconscious bias, which persist in insidious ways today, are treated so superficially and with such condescension. You cannot fight evil ideas with shame. And Kelly's thinly veiled diatribe at Kara will not win over any viewers. If anything, it will only embolden those who already agree to be more sanctimonious toward others, undermining their own efforts and goals.

Better that the Supergirl writers stay away from this kind of social commentary, for they do their own causes more harm than their explicit enemies ever could.

Let's be real, the writer of this ep was mad over Trump getting COVID and having such a quick recovery, and used the councilwoman character to vent about it. That's what happened. I'm not even going to discuss Kelly's temper tantrum or why Diggle was even here.

Terrific episode! Kelly Olsen is a freaking force of nature and this new Guardian might just be my favourite superhero yet. Azie Tesfai is a badass for getting her words and message across, thank you! That was very moving.

Holy f, that was the worst episode I've ever seen. I'm just finishing the show (aware of how average/cliche it is, a guilty pleasure of mine?) because I'm almost at the end anyway, but holy f that was bad

Amazingly written. This is one of the most important messages out there right now and the episode was amazingly written by the star of the episode: Azie Tesfai.

As allies, if you choose to be, we should keep asking the questions Azie and the other writers handed to us. Let's do better instead of commenting that it's all political.

Also, human rights isn't propaganda or political bullshit, it's a f*cking RIGHT. Thank you and goodnight

Wise and powerful episode…one of the best ever written ever!

I actually still like this show, I think it’s ok. But I see why people feel like it’s forcing way too many strongly political stories down the viewers throats… it’s just no fun to always watch real life struggles on screen

loading replies

Oh my God. Stop the forced propaganda of BLM. Poor episode.

Sometimes these writers come out eating whatever they eat and start vomiting all over these characters; seriously that's how Alex would respond to Kelly's call?!
