Absolutely incredible episode! I don't know where we're heading this season but so far, so good. This is what we've been waiting for, to see other hunters hearing and telling stories about the Winchesters as the real heroes they are. Seeing other hunters fanboying over the guys was hilarious, especially Elvis' obsession with Sam. This is the stuff we haven't seen in a while. Asa was also a very interesting character and the intro with Roll On Down the Highway was just perfect. His letter was heartbreaking. It's a fresh change to see the boys not going unnoticed. At this point, demons, monsters and everything in this freaking universe has to be terrified by just hearing the word Winchester. Some say, the boogeyman checks the closet for Dean Winchester.
I enjoyed the fact that the demon was not a jackass. I though, holy crap, he's killing the meatsuits, and when Jody was possessed I just freaked out. I found myself screaming to the screen "Don't you dare kill Jody off". If they kill her I'm going to be really really pissed. And when Mary went to her with the angel blade my heart just stopped. I was about to have a heart attack. We know how evil the writers are and it all created the suspense other episodes lack. Any episode with Jody is a good episode. Her acting was stellar, especially as a demon. Others have tried to do this crazy/psychotic demon performance, but she just nailed it. And at the very end, it was heartbreaking: "they are good men, best I've ever met". Seriously, it's high time Jody gets an antipossesion tattoo.
Brilliant opening scene! Looking forward to the episodes wrote by the same guy,
This is a wonderful episode! Very cool seeing so many storylines tying together - Mary saving Asa, talking about Ellen and the Roadhouse (I miss them so much,) Jody meeting Mary, and brining so many hunters together to fight another superdemon (We haven't seen anything like this since Yellow Eyes.)
It was creepy and thrilling and at times even made me worry for some of our favorites/pillar characters.
Sad we didn't get to really meet Asa though.
Also, apparently this episode had a new writer, which is why it felt different. This is interesting, I feel like they should have experimented with a new writing team much, much sooner like years ago.
At the end, I couldn't help but think Mary was going to leave the boys again. Theis points of view are different and it's OK. I mean, it's normal Mary needs a little time off and that the boys want her to stay. Having said that, I get why Dean is so angry. He's still a boy and he's scared of losing her. That's why he doesn't open up to her. I'm on Dean's side here because I can relate. However, both views are right. The problem is that we've always thought of Mary as being the perfect mom and now we have her back, but not as we expected, and not as the boys expected. Thankfully, Jody helped with her little mom talk.
And Billie, she always bring something to the show. Her presence is just astonishing. I like how it's all evolving and the fact that Mary met her. But now I'm merely confused. Dean owes Billie one, alright. I though that she was just going to reap Mary's soul but since she said she's sticking for a bit longer, what's that favour going to be? Just saying.
I want a spin-off with the witch twins. They were a nice addition to the show. They seem interesting characters, like Eileen, that deaf hunter last season. The only thing I didn't like was Asa's mom. I don't know whether it was her acting or what happened but I didn't like it. Mary saved your boy's life, be a little more grateful. Another thing that bothered me was the fact that they tried to figure out who was possessed. Come use the Christo strategy, even more since they were off water.
Best lines in the episode: "A demon knife. Kills 'em dead. Niiiiiiice" and "Elvis is leaving the building".
Can't wait for next episode with Lucifer, Cas and Crowley. This episode is going to be so fucking awesome as its title, Rock never dies. My vessel is ready!!!
Wow, this episode was amazing. It's unlike the norm and I love that! Definitely one of my new classic favorites.
oh man, i miss ellen and the bar!
also: is this a new type of demon we're seeing? i understood why lucifer doesnt have the black eyes and has the red ones instead bc hes special or whatever but why does this crossroads demon not have the black eyes??

Hows does not every single hunter have an anti-possession tattoo at this point. But great episode. Jody makes me so stoked for the spin off.
